1) Explain about the primary and secondary Data.

2)Show that the sum of absolute deviation from median is minimum.

3) What is dispersion. Explain mean deviation and standard deviation.

4) What is effect of change of origin and scale on moments.

5) Define Bivariate random variable and state its properties.

6) What is the chance that leap year selected at random will contain 53 Sundays.

7) A problem in statistics is given to the three students A,B and C whose chances of
solving it are 1/2, 3/4 and 1/4 respectively. What is the probability that the problem
will be solved it all of them solve independently.

8) Define discrete random variable and its probability mass function.

9) For a continuous random variable X with p.d.f. f(x)=3x2 ,0? x ? 1. Find a and b such
that i) p(X ? a) = p(X>a) and ii)p(X>b)=0.05

10) Explain distribution function and its properties.
