Srinagar Norwegian Crown Princess Mette Marit is scheduled to arrive on a 16-day private visit to India during which she will go for trekking in Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir. Princess Marit, wife of Norway’s Crown Prince Haakon - the first in line to the throne, will arrive in Leh on September 18 for a 13-day stay, officials said today.

She is scheduled to start trekking on September 19 and the trip is scheduled to end on September 30 after passing through many picturesque valleys and mountains in Leh district of Ladakh region, they said.

While two security personnel from Norway will be accompanying the crown princess, the state police has been requested to provide two English-speaking personal security officers to her, they said. “The state police has been requested to keep the visit very private while making unobtrusive security arrangements for the dignitary,” a senior official from VIP security cell in New Delhi wrote to J-K DGP Kuldeep Khoda.

India is going to be a name on the Formula One map soon. Legends like Michael Schumacher, Fernando Alonso, Lewis Hamilton and others will set the track on fire in Delhi in the end of October. The race may be sometime away, but the interest levels are high already.

Industrialist Avinash Bhosale who has been to Monte Carlo when for F1, is eager to watch the race live in India too. “We were there in Monte Carlo when Lewis Hamilton won the Grand Prix. It was an extremely thrilling experience. We plan to see the F1 at New Delhi in October too and it will surely good fun.”

With more than one lakh spectators, the race is surely going to be a grand affair. And everyone wants to be a part of the first race in India. Says industrialist Adar Poonawala, “Yes I’m definitely going for the race. Plus, its on a weekend. So there is no reason to miss it. Although I have watched the race live earlier in Monaco and other places, watching it live in India would be a different experience.
