ADVERTISEMENT FOR RECRUITMENT OF PROFESSOR FOR CDOS STONE RESEARCH CHAIR :
Centre for Development of Stones (CDOS), Jaipur is setting up a Stone Research Chair at Centre for Building Materials, Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT), Jaipur for under taking research work in dimensional stone sector.

Applications are invited for the post of Chair Incumbent from serving or retired Professors/Asst. Professors or equivalent position in a scientific organisation with relevant qualification and experience as mentioned in detail below. The post of the Chair Incumbent is purely temporary and co-terminus with the term of the Research Chair.

Application on plain paper enclosing detailed bio-data, copy of necessary certificates and documents should be submitted to the Registrar, MNIT, Jaipur by 23rd April, 2012.

Details of the Chair, possible research areas, required qualification and experience of theChair Incumbent, selection process etc. are also given below :
LOCATION OF THE CHAIR :
The Chair will be located at Centre for Building Materials, Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur.

POSSIBLE RESEARCH AREAS :
** Mine productivity and safety
** Physical, Mechanical and thermo characterization of stone properties for promoting usages of stones as a sustainable green building material specially for various structural applications
** Study of morphology of various stones with a view to develop appropriate , cost effective and suitable tool and machine development for mining and processing of different varieties of stones
** Stone conservation and restoration
** Standardization of Indian Natural Stones for Structural application
** Gainful utilization of stone waste generated during mining and processing
** Reclamation of exploited lands /mines by way of promoting urbanization, developing fisheries, artificial reservoirs and reestablishments of drainage system etc.

DURATION OF THE CHAIR :
The duration of the chair would be initially for seven years and may be extended for five years depending upon need of the research project.

QUALIFICATION :
An eminent scholar having expertise and experience in the relevant field. The eminence willbe determined on the basis of following :-
** Ph. D. degree with experience of 5 years as Professor (37,000-67,000 +AGP 10,000) or 15 years as Associate Professor (37,000-67,000 +AGP 9,000) or equivalent position in a scientific organization.
** International and National level relevant research publications in reputed Journals
** Presentation of relevant research in International and National Level Conferences
** Edited relevant research volumes/ Books of high reputation
** Membership of reputed scientific bodies
** Experience of guiding research at the level of Ph.D.
** Any other relevant expertise/experience/research/contribution in the field of stone sector.

SELECTION PROCESS :
1. A Search Committee will be constituted and the Search committee will consider the applications / nominations of the candidate for selection. The committee can also conduct interview, if so desired for selection of the Incumbent of the Chair.
2. In-service candidate, if any, will have to submit NOC from the parent department along with the application.
3. Any member of the Search Committee can also submit his candidature/self nomination for the consideration of rest of the members of the Search Committee.
4. In case, in service candidates are appointed, they will have to submit a certificate that they will devote adequate /total time to the research work.
5. Retired candidates will also be considered subject to the condition that their age should not be more than 65 years at the time of the appointment.
6. The salary/honorarium will be taxable as per GOI rules for both, retired and in service appointees.

SALARY / HONORARIUM :
In case of in-service candidate actual salary of person selected i.e. Total salary + Medical + LTC + other allowances as per rules of the host institution in the running pay band of Rs.37,000-67,000 + AGP 10,000.
In case of retired person, a fixed honorarium of Rs.75,000/- per month.
