The project entitle “credit card fraud detection using data mining” is developed using C#.Net as front end and MS-SQL server 2005 as back end. This project maintains the details of customer who request alerts regarding possible misuse of their cards. The user has facilities to subscribe and unsubscribe for the facility depending on the convenience. It maintains the mandatory details of a bank such as the banks affiliated to them, the banks in which the current cards are valid etc. it also maintains the details of customers such as their ID, name, type of account, services offered to them, address. It also maintains the details o credit card s owned cards owned by the user.
This manages the places where the card is frequently accessed and also the maximum limit purchased by the customer. It also maintains the maximum limit of the card after which the card becomes obsolete. It detects any fluctuations in purchases by using data mining techniques. Hence we will be able to detect anomalies in purchases to intimate to the customer. It helps users receive a text message every time after an anomaly has been detected. These alerts have to be configured by the customer. It maintains list of users who request for calls instead of messages. These call alerts have to be manually configured by the customer. The message alerts are passed on to the call center and a call is placed by the call center executives. As soon as the user confirms the misuse of a card a police compliant is lodged by the company and hence helps in better security.
