Job Details :
Applications are invited in the prescribed form from the eligible candidates for filling up of the following teaching posts in the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore.

Qualifications :
I. Professor Cadre Posts (Pay Scale Rs. 37400-67000+10000 AGP)
1. A Ph.D. Degree in the concerned subject/subjects.
2. An eminent scholar with published work of high quality, actively engaged in Teaching, and/or experience in Research/Extension at University/National level Institutions, including experience of guiding research at PG level with10 years of experience (excluding period spent for obtaining Ph.D. Degree subject to a maximum of 3 years) provided 5 years experience shall be inAssociate Professor cadre or its equivalent position in the concerned subject/subjects.
General : Candidates with knowledge of Kannada are preferred.

II. Associate Professor Cadre Posts (Pay Scale Rs.37400-67000+9000 AGP)
1. A Ph.D. in the concerned subject/subjects.
2. Good academic record, in addition to these, candidates who join from
outside University system, shall also possess at least 55% of the marks or
an equivalent grade of B in the seven point scale with letter grades O, A, B, C, D, and E & F at the Master’s degree level.
3. Five (5) years of experience in Teaching and / or Research / Extension in the cadre of Assistant Professor or its equivalent position in the concerned subject/subjects, excluding the period spent for obtaining the Ph.D. degree (subject to a maximum of 3 years) and has made some marks in the area of Scholarship as evidenced by quality of publication, contribution to educational innovation, design of new courses and curricula.
General : Candidates with knowledge of Kannada are preferred.

III. Assistant Professor Cadre Posts(Pay Scale Rs.15600-39100+6000 AGP)
1. Good Academic record with at least 55% of the marks or, an equivalent
grade of B in 7 point scale with letter grades O, A, B, C, D, E & F at the
Master’s degree level, in the concerned subject/subjects from a recognized
Indian University, or an equivalent degree from a Foreign University.

2. Candidates should have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) in the
concerned subject for Assistant Professor post conducted by the ASRB/UGC/ CSIR or a similar test accredited by the ICAR/ICMR/NCERT/UGC/CSIR i.e.,
a) For Agriculture/Animal Husbandry/Veterinary/Fisheries disciplines, ASRB/ICAR NET in the concerned subject is prescribed.
b) For Humanities, languages, etc., UGC NET is prescribed.
c) For pure Sciences CSIR NET is prescribed.

Note :
1. In exceptional cases where ASRB (ICAR) is not conducting the NET in
certain disciplines, the candidates should pass NET in the disciplines approved by the Academic Council in the related subjects : As per Notification No.AO/RT/Quali. Asst.Prof./Direct Rectt./2008-09 dated : 18-7-2008 and Notification No.AO/RT/Quali. Asst.Prof./Direct Rectt./
2008-09 dated : 3-11-2008, and as approved by the Board of
Management in its 337th II Adjourned Emergent Meeting held on
6-8-2010 and confirmed in Minutes dated : of 25-11-2010. Corrigendum
No.AO/PS/AC-167/21/Item-9/Corgndm/2010 dated : 5-2-2010 available
on UAS-B Website : www.uasbangalore.edu.in

2. A relaxation of 5% may be provided from 55% to 50% of the marks at
the Master’s level for the SC/ST category.

Instructions :
1. Application Fee : For Professor/Associate Professor Cadre posts:
Rs.700/- (Rs.350/- for SC/ST). For Assistant Professor Cadre Posts
Rs.500/- (Rs.250/- for SC/ST).
2. Note : A xerox copy of the Caste Certificate issued by the competent
authority should be produced in support of claim for fee concession under
SC/ ST Category.

3. The entire Notification along with the detailed qualifications prescribed for each of the posts and the prescribed application pro-forma is accessible and can be downloaded from the official website of the University of
Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore (www.uasbangalore.edu.in). The
candidates whoever wish to apapply for the said posts may refer the official website of UAS, Bangalore.

4. Filled-in applications together with allied enclosures should be submitted
in an envelope, superscribing on it, “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF
_______________” to THE ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER, UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES, GKVK, BANGALORE – 560 065 on or before 9-4-2012. The filled in applications must accompany the prescribed fee of Rs.700/- (Rs.350/- for SC/ST) for Professor & Associate Professor Cadre posts and Rs.500/- (Rs.250/ - for SC/ST) for Assistant Professor Cadre Posts in the form of Demand Draft in favour of the Comptroller, UAS,
Bangalore.

5. Candidates claiming under Rural Category quota should enclose the
certificate of study in rural areas (for 10 full academic years from 1st to
10th standards) issued by the competent authority.
