Institute of Rural Management Anand is looking for Faculty and RBI Chair Professor in Rural Economics
Faculty and RBI Chair Professor in Rural Economics :
IRMA is a premier, national level institute for masters, doctoral and mid-career professional education, interdisciplinary research, and consulting in rural management. Founded in 1979, the Institute’s domain covers the entire farm and non-farm rural sector. Growing rural-urban disparity in income & basic services, distress in agriculture and rural livelihoods, resilient poverty and continuing marginalization of segments of rural society today combine to pose formidable challenges in development scholarship and practice, and add urgency to the evolving vision of IRMA.

We invite applications from scholars and practitioners committed to addressing these challenges to join the faculty and contribute to its mission of promoting all-round sustainable rural development through professional management. Positions are open at all levels, i.e., Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor, in the following areas :
(1) Marketing
(2) Production, Operations Management and QT
(3) Organisational Behaviour/Human Resources
(4) General Management-Strategy and Policy
(5) IT & Systems
(6) Finance, Accounting and Costing.

The appointment for faculty positions is a regular appointment with a probation period of two years.
We also invite applications from eminent scholars for the RBI Chair Professorship in Rural Economics. Faculty, Scholars specialised or/and having experience in Natural Resource Management are also invited to apply. The appointment of RBI Chair Professor is a term appointment for a contractual period of five years with a probation period of one year.

Pay Band and eligibility criteria at different positions is shown below :
Position : Assistant Professor
Pay Band + AGP : Rs.37400 – 67000 + AGP Rs.9000
Scholars : Ph.D. with potential for scholarship & teaching
Practitioners : Professional Post - Graduate qualification with at least 5 years of relevant experience

Position : Associate Professor
Pay Band + AGP : Rs.37400 – 67000 + AGP Rs.9500
Scholars : Ph.D. with at least 5 yeas of teaching at PG level, research and publications
Practitioners : Professional Post - Graduate qualification with at least 10 years of relevant experience

Position : Professor
Pay Band + AGP : Rs.37400 – 67000 + AGP Rs.10500
Scholars : Ph.D. with at least 10 years of teaching at PG level; research and significant publications
Practitioners : Professional Post Graduate qualification with at least 15 years of relevant work experience.

Everything else being equal, people with demonstrated expertise in the agriculture, rural and social sector development, and natural resource management would be preferred.

Every faculty member is expected to have a portfolio of engagements including teaching, research and consulting. There is a modest provision of sharing from the consulting income of the Institute. All faculty members
have the privilege of Campus housing, Contributory Provident Fund, Contributory Superannuation Scheme, Gratuity, Medical reimbursement, Children’s education allowance, Leave travel concession, and other benefits as per IRMA rules.
