Course :
The total duration of the Diploma course is 1 year. The curriculum consists of theory and practical classes in the field of education of the hearing impaired. On successful completion of the course the candidate will be awarded with a Diploma in Teaching Young HI Children by the RCI.

Number of Seats :
Total no : of seats for the course is 25.

Eligibility :
Successful completion of Degree from any recognized university in India.

Reservation :
The reservation of seats in these courses for different castes will be as per State and Central Government rules. For OBC, 27% extra seats (over total intake of each course) are available for centrally administered institutes only.

Application form and prospectus can be had from the Director, National Institute of Speech and Hearing, Karimanal P.O, Trivandrum-695 583 either in person or can be downloaded from our website www.nish.ac.in. Forms will be issued at a cost of Rs. 100/- per application.

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORM :
Application in original dully filled and with the following certificates should be reach the Director on or before May 15. i) Photocopy of mark list of qualifying examination. ii) Photocopy of Degree certificate in case of degree holders.

Application for admission to Diploma In Teaching Young Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DTY DHH) course for the year 2012-2013 has been invited. The duration of the course is 1 year. The curriculum consists of theory and practical classes in the field of Preschool education of the hearing impaired. This course is recognized by Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) and the examination will be conducted by IGNOU. For admission to DTY(DHH) the minimum educational requirement will be successful completion of degree from any board or university in India.
