Section A <10>
Given below are four statements. State the extent to which you agree or disagree with each of them and justify your stance in not more than100 words per statement.
1.A good teacher is one who can make informed decisions in the classroom.
2.The process approach to teaching writing is better than the product approach.[try this as an alternative: the process approach to teaching writing, rather than the product oriented one, is more beneficial to students]
3.A good language learner is one who can memorize answers and reproduce them. .
4.ESP based textbooks are better than EGP based ones in professional colleges.[here again, try this: text books that have a specific purpose orientation are more useful in professional colleges than general purpose ones]
Section B <10>
Write short notes on two of the following in about 150 words each.
1.The importance of psychology in ELT.
2.The usefulness of action research for language teachers.
3.Teaching formal letter writing. [this is too simple when you contrast it with the other 3; think of something like: “group dynamics and the communicative classroom” as an alternative]
4.Different models of reading.
