Admission Notice for B. Ed. Programme : 2012-2013
1. Minimum Qualifications and Requirements : 1.Pre-Service Candidates (Internal & external) and Inservice candidates should have B.A./B.Sc./B.Mus (Rabindrasangit) Degree with 3-Year Honours/Major subject with at least 50% marks in Hons/Major subject, OBC candidates with same Degree should have at least 45% marks , and S C / S T candidates with same Degree should have pass marks from any recognized University/Institution. The pre-service candidates must have
studied any of the following subjects as combination at graduation level, one of which may be Honours/Major subject : Bengali, English, Sanskrit, Hindi, History, (Ancient / Modern), Geography, Music (Rabindrasangit), Philosophy, Economics, Mathematics, Physical Science (Physics / Chemistry) and Life science (Botany / Zoology). In case of Life Science Physiology as subsidiary subject will be considered.

2. In-Service Candidates should have at least 3 years experience as a full time approved teacher in a school recognized by the Central or respective State Government. He/She has to enclose a copy of No Objection Certificate from the competent authority/ a copy of Managing Committee Resolution regarding his/her deputation and approval letter from D.I without which the application will be rejected.

3. Selection of Method Subjects : The Honours / Major subject shall be the first teaching method subject (Paper–V). Second method subject (Paper–VI) shall be offered during counseling keeping in view the subsidiary subject studied at the degree level.

4. Reservation of Seats : Reservation of seats will be guided as per existing rules of the Government of India, UGC and Visva-Bharati.

5. General Information : The prescribed application form may be obtained personally from the office of the Principal, Vinaya-Bhavana, Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan, Birbhum, West Bengal, PIN- 731235 on production of a cash coupon of Rs.400/- (Rs 140/- for SC/ST) to be collected from the Cash Section of Central Office, Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan on any working day from 10.30 am to 1.30 pm and on Tuesdays up to 12 noon. The duly filled in application form along with attested copies of all relevant documents must reach to the Principal, Vinaya-Bhavana, Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan, Birbhum, West Bengal, PIN-731235 within 8th April, 2012.

*Application Forms may also be downloaded from : www.visva-bharati.ac.in An Account payee Demand Draft of Rs. 400/- (Rupees four hundred only) for General & OBC Candidates and Rs. 140/- for SC / ST candidates drawn on S. B. I. Santiniketan (Code – 2121) branch and issued in favour of the Accounts Officer, Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan should accompany the application form downloaded from the website.

6. Incomplete application in any form is liable to be rejected. Visva-Bharati observes week-end holiday on Tuesday (afternoon) and Wednesday (full).Prospectus for B.Ed. programme 2012-2013 will be made available to the applicant along with the application form.

Admission kits will be issued from the designated branches of UBI:
From 15th March, 2012 – 15th April, 2012

Last date for receipt of application forms: 15th April, 2012

Note: Visva-Bharati remains open on Sundays and closed on Wednesdays (Weekly Holiday). On Tuesdays, the office remains open from 10 AM to 1.30 PM. However all Bhavanas (Institutes) have their own working hours.
