Ph.D. Admission Test-Procedure and Schedule
Eligibility Criteria :
A Minimum Qualifications for Eligibility (Engineering/Technology) :
Regular (Not distance mode) M. Tech Degree in respective branch with 60% Aggregate Marks or equivalent CGPA.

B Minimum Qualifications for Eligibility (Sciences / Humanities / Social Sciences / Management / Pharmacy) :
(i) Regular (Not distance mode) Masters Degree with 60% Aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA.
(ii) Consistently good academic performance all through.
C Admission :
Admission shall be based on :
(i) Satisfying the requirements of minimum qualifications as given at A above. The candidates who do not fulfill the qualification requirement shall not be short listed nor be allowed to take the written examination.
(ii) Performance in Interview for those who have qualified in SLET / UGC / CSIR (JRF) examinations. Such candidates need not appear in the written test.
(iii) For all those who are not qualified in any of the examinations mentioned in (ii) above the admission shall be based on performance in PhD Written Entrance Test and Interview for short listed candidates based on their written test performance.
(iv) Candidates will be required to discuss their research interests and proposed research work at the time of Interview.
D Examination Procedure :
(i) Tests / Questions shall be different for each discipline of the program
(ii) Test will cover all the core / compulsory subjects in the relevant Master Level degree. Written test would aim at judging the depth of knowledge and potential to do research work.
E Format of PhD. Admission Test Question Paper (Engineering and Science Programs) :
(i) Duration : 120 Minutes
(ii) Full Marks : 100
(iii) All questions have to be answered.
(iv) Distribution of Marks

Part I, shall be applicable for examination for Ph.D. programs in CSE, ECE, Chemical Engg., Civil Engg. and Mechanical Engg. only
F Format of PhD. Admission Test Question Paper (For Management) :
(i) Duration : 120 Minutes
(ii) Full Marks : 100
(iii) All questions have to be answered.
(iv) Distribution of Marks (for detailed syllabus refer to the website)
Part A : (40% MCQs) Research Methodology and Numerical Ability
Part B : (30%, 5 Descriptive Questions of 6 marks each) Business / Economic Environment
Part C : (30%, 5 Descriptive Questions of 6 marks each (Only one area to be attempted out of areas listed)
In the areas as specified in the syllabus (General Management / Finance / Marketing /operations Management/Human Resource Management )
G Format of PhD. Admission Test Question Paper (For Humanities and social sciences) :
(i) Duration : 120 Minutes
(ii) Full Marks : 100
(iii) All questions have to be answered.
iv) Distribution of Marks (for detailed syllabus refer to the website)
Part A : (50% MCQs) 25 MCQs of 2 marks each
Research Methodology in Social Sciences
Test of Hypothesis, Sampling Method, Research Design, Research Techniques, Data Analysis, Report writing and presentation
Part B : (50%) 5 Descriptive Questions of 10 marks each (Only one area to be attempted out of 5 listed)
In the areas as specified in the syllabus (Sociology, English Language & Literature, Economics & Finance, Psychology ,General Management)
H Written test for eligible candidates only will be followed by a personal interview for short listed candidates only.
I Syllabi for different disciplines has been uploaded on the web site.
J Schedule :
(i) Last Date of Receipt of Applications 26 May 2012
(ii) Entrance Exam followed by Interview 02 June 2012 (Saturday)

K Download the application form from the web site www.jiit.ac.in and send it to the Registrar, Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, A-10. Sector-62, Noida, UP, 201307, along with a Demand Draft of Rs 700/- in favor of Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, payable at Noida/Delhi. You may also obtain the application form from the above address by sending a draft as above.
L Institutional Fee : The fee shall be Rs. 10000/- per semester.
M Teaching Assistantship : Fellowship (Teaching assistantship) shall be provided to all Ph.D students who are selected and enrolled as full-time scholars as per Institute Norms.
