Question.1 I have applied online to the BARC OCES/DGFS 2012 programme. Should I send any documents now?
Answer If you have completed your registration and have received your Application Number, you need not send any documents to us now. However you can take a printout of your Application Form and keep it for your reference.

Question.2 Should I send the Bank Challan receipt?
Answer No. Please retain the two copies of the Bank Challans with you.

Question.3 Should I send the copies of certificates / documents regarding my qualification, caste, disability etc?
Answer No.

Question.4 Give me more details of the Online Test
Answer Please see the link 'Important Information -> About Online Test' for details of the online test.

Question.5 At what time am I required to appear for the test?
Answer Admit card will provide the information related to your date of test, time and venue etc.

Question.6 I have ME/M.Tech qualification. Can I apply?
Answer Yes. You can apply. Mention your PG qualification under ‘Details of any other additional qualification’ when you fill in the ‘Academic background’ information of your application.

Question.7 I have Ph.D qualification. Can I apply?
Answer No.

Question.8 In my Degree Course, only CGPA / GPA / SGPA or letter grade has been awarded in place of percentage of marks. Can I enter the grade in my application?
Answer Applicants, who have been awarded CGPA / GPA / SGPA or letter grades, should convert CPI into percentage by multiplying with 10. For example, if CGPA is 7.12, the percentage is 71.2.

Question.9 I have appeared for my final Semester / Year Examinations and the results are yet to be announced. Am I eligible to apply?
Answer Yes. However, applicants selected and offered admission to OCES 2012 would be required to submit the final results on or before 30th November 2012. Similarly the applicants selected in DGFS 2012 would be required to submit the final results as per the requirement of the Institute in which they have secured M.Tech/M.Chem admission.

Question.10 I have submitted my application online, but have forgotten the Application Number and also did not take a print out of the application form. What do I do?
Answer
You may check your e-mail. After registration, an e-mail will be sent to each applicant along with the registration number and name.

Question.11 How can I check the status of my application?
Answer You can click "Candidatet's Login" menu and check the status of your application on this website by entering your relevant details.

Question.12 Can I send a Cheque / DD in lieu of the Bank Challan?
Answer No. Payment of application fee through Bank Challan only is acceptable.

Question.13 I am a SC/ST/OBC Applicant but don't have the caste certificate. Can I apply as a General Applicant?
Answer If you so desire, you may apply stating your category as "General", if eligible for General category. In such an event, your candidature will be considered as "GENERAL" and no change in category shall be allowed at a later date. No relaxation / concessions will be applicable to you.

Question.14 I am working in a Govt / Public Sector Company. Should I enclose an NOC from my employer at the time of applying for the Online Test?
Answer Applicants presently employed in Central / State Govt departments, PSUs, Autonomous bodies and called for interview would be required to submit No Objection Certificate at the time of Interview.

Question.15 Will any travel expenses be paid to me for attending the Online Test?
Answer You have to attend the Online test at your own expense.

Question.16 Can I change the test centre / city I have chosen for my Online test later on?
Answer Before submitting your application, you have to think and decide carefully about the city and provide three choices in order of preferences for your Online Test. No change of test centre/city preferences will be permissible at a later stage.

Question.17 What is the Application Fee?
Answer A non-refundable application fee of Rs.250/-(`Two Hundred and Fifty) is chargeable from the candidates in General and OBC categories. The bank charges, if any is also to be borne by the applicant. Women candidates and the candidates belonging to SC/ST, Dependents of Defence Personnel Killed in Action (DODPKIA) and candidates with disability are exempted from payment of application fee.

Question.18 Can I send my photograph and scanned signature by post?
Answer No. You must upload soft copy of your photograph and scanned signature to complete the online registration of your application.

Question.19 What will be the syllabus for BARC Online Test?
Answer The syllabus for BARC Online Test is specific to the Engineering Discipline which you selected. See the link 'Important Information -> About Online Test' for further details.

Question.20 I have appeared in GATE 2012. Can I update my GATE score later on, even if I have completed my Online Application?
Answer Online application submission is scheduled to close on March 31, 2012, giving adequate time to candidates for entering their GATE 2012 score and percentile. Even before the publication of GATE 2012 results, you can fill in and save all the remaining relevant information like personal information, academic background etc and make payment of application fee. However, submit your application only after entering your GATE 2012 score and percentile. Once the application is submitted, you cannot update / enter GATE score.

Question.21 I am an Electrical Engineering graduate, with a GATE score in Electronics Engineering. Am I eligible to apply for OCES/DGFS through GATE screening channel?
Answer No. Those wishing to be screened in on the basis of GATE must have a valid GATE Score in the same engineering discipline as the qualifying degree discipline.

Question.22 Do I have to complete the entire application process in one session?
Answer You can enter/modify various particulars required in the application form in single or multiple sessions. At any point of filling the application before final submission, you can save the data entered till that point and logout, to fill in more details later on. However, please ensure that you do the final submission of the application before the closing date (31 March 2012).

Question.23 I have selected both GATE and Online Test screening options and I have been shortlisted for interview based on my GATE score. Do I have to appear for the test?
Answer No.

Question.24 I have selected only GATE screening option. Can I change it?
Answer No, if you have already submitted the application form with only GATE option selected, you cannot change your option to online test and appear for the test.

Question.25 I have selected only the Online Test screening option. Can I change it to GATE option?
Answer No, if you have already submitted the application form with only Online Test option selected, you cannot change your option to GATE.

Question.26 I have 59.99% marks in my qualifying examination. Am I eligible to apply?
Answer No.

Question.27 How will I know whether I have been shortlisted for interview?
Answer If you are shortlisted for interview, intimation will be sent to your e-mail id. You can also log in to the website and check your status.

Question.28 I have got my GATE score. How do I upload my GATE percentile?
Answer Calculating the GATE percentile is a simple task. You can use the formula given below :
P = ((N - your rank) / N) x 100
where P: Percentile; N: Total number of candidates who have appeared for the exam.

Question.29 I have appeared in both GATE 2011 and GATE 2012. Which score should I enter?
Answer Candidates who have appeared in both GATE 2011 and GATE 2012 should enter the particulars for the year in which their GATE score is higher.

I am An engineering student in my final semester and will pass out in 2012. Can I apply for the BARC? Because I have filled the application form and there is no option as passing year of 2012 therefore I filled passing year as 2011 but will clear in 2012.

According to the FAQ, students passing out in 2012 can apply.
However for filling the form with no option available as 2012, nobody except the authorities can reply.

This is what official document says:

It is not a good idea to delete the e-mail received for registration.
There is no way given in the website for retrieving the registration number.

Depends on the officers in the panel.
Expect to be asked in generic as well as in your profession.

Login ID is 10 characters long as per the box given in the login page. I just tried to enter and find how many character it allows.

Are you sure that Login ID is same as application number?

hello many of my friends and me too facing problem in checking the application status .in login page it says to enter application no. as user name that is of 11 digits as we enter it allows us to enter only few digits .....pls do something as soon as possible.

1) Is login ID same as application number? Or different?
2) How many digits is the registration ID and how many the login page allows.
3) Where did you get the login ID / application ID?

4) What does the error message say?
