    M.Tech. Admissions 2012

    The M.Tech degree is intended to provide education for students who wish to work in the IT industry as practitioners. It is awarded upon successful completion of a 4-semester broad-based academic program in IT, going beyond, but incorporating essential elements of, traditional computer science. Apart from imparting technical knowledge, the program teaches managerial and other cognate skills that are essential for a successful career in today's competitive IT industry. All students enrolled in the M.Tech program are residential, full-time students.

    Admissions Announcement for 2012 :
    Admissions to the M.Tech. programme for 2012 is now open. You can apply online athttp://iiitb.in.

    Eligibility :
    The minimum qualification for admission to any of the post-graduate programmes at IIITB is a first-class four-year bachelor's degree in engineering (i.e. B.E., B.Tech., or equivalent). First class degree holders in 3-year undergraduate programmes followed by MSc with first class in any of the physical sciences, or an MCA degree with first class, can also apply. Final-year students expecting to graduate by August 2012 may also apply. First class or equivalent is required in 10th and 12th (or equivalent) grades as well.

    Selection Procedure :
    Admission to the M.Tech. programme is on the basis of prior academic performance (at the high school level and beyond), performance in the IIITB's Online Entrance Examination and an admission interview. Applicants with good scores in the GATE examination and GRE examination may be eligible for waiver of the IIITB Online Entrance Examination

    Entrance Exam Waiver :
    Candidates with GATE Scores
    Applicants having valid GATE scores from selected disciplines are welcome to apply for the M.Tech. programme. Such applicants may qualify for waiver of the entrance examination.

    How to Apply :
    Applicants must apply online at http://iiitb.in. Please see the admissions brochure for detailed instructions.

    Application Fee : Rs. 1000/- This fee must be paid by all the applicants

    Online Entrance Exam :
    IIIT-B will be holding the online entrance examination as per the dates and locations given below:
    Test Centers :
    April 1, 2012 (Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai)
    April 08, 2012 : (Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Cochin, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Pune)

    Important Dates :
    Last date for applying online : March 18, 2012
    Last date for receiving Application Fee : March 23, 2012

    Exams & Interviews     :
    Notification of exam waiver for qualified applicants : March 24, 2012
    Exams Dates : Students are provided with two choices for taking the online admission test : Date 1:April 1, 2012 Date 2:April 8, 2012
    Selection interviews at IIIT-B campus : May 2-4, 2012

    How will I know whether I am qualified for exam waiver or not? I have valid GATE 2012 score.
