SCHEME FOR AWARD OF SCHOLARSHIPS TO YOUNG ARTISTES IN DIFFERENT CULTURAL FIELDS

Ministry of Culture operates the Scheme for Award of Scholarships to Young Artistes in Different Cultural Fields to support advanced training, within India, to young artistes of outstanding promise in the fields of Indian Classical Music, Indian Classical Dances, Light Classical Music, Theatre, Visual Arts and Folk, Traditional and Indigenous Arts. Under this Scheme, 400 Scholarships are awarded every year to young artistes who have undergone a minimum of 5 years of training with their Guru/Institute.

Age Limit : 18 to 25 years (as on 1st April, 2011)

Mode of Selection :
The list of candidates short listed for interview/performance test can be viewed at the Ministry’s website by 31st May, 2012. All such candidates would also be informed about the interview/performance test through E-Mail by 31st May, 2012. (candidate must provide correct and accessible email address so that he/she may be informed of the interview dates)

How to Apply :
Online applications are invited from eligible young artistes in the age group of 18 to 25 years (as on 1st April, 2011) for award of Scholarships for the year 2011-2012. Details of the Scheme, Instructions for Applicants and the Application Module are available on the website of the Ministry.
