Recruitment for the prestigious position of Parichalaka (Director), Granthana Vibhaga (Publishing Department), Visva-Bharati.

Name of post : Parichalaka (Director)
Place of posting : Granthana Vibhaga (PublishingDepartment), presently in Kolkata.It’s a senior management level, fixed tenure, administrative post; no teaching/research liability is attached. Tenure for the post is 5 (five) years or the incumbent attaining the age of 60 (sixty years), whichever is earlier. The retirement age for the post is 60 (sixty years),

Pay scale and benefits :
PB-4, Rs. 37,400-67,000 (with Grade Pay of Rs.10,000), along with DA at
Central Gov’t rates, HRA, NPS/GPF-cum-Gratuity-cum-Pension, GSLI, re-imbursement of medical expenses for self and dependants, Leave Travel Concession, Children’s Education Allowance, Transport
Allowance etc as applicable according to Gov’t of India / UGC/ Visva-Bharati rules/orders/norms, in force.

Eligibility conditions :
Age : Ordinarily below 55 years.
Educational Qualification :
i).Essential : Masters Degree,with at least 55% marks or equivalent grading, in any subject preferably English/ Bengali/ Linguistics/ Mass Communication/ Journalism/ Media and Culture/ Sociology/ Psychology/ Printing Technology/ Advertizing; provided that the requirement of minimum percentage of marks in masters degree may not be insisted upon (i) for a candidate who has additional qualification of P.G degree / diploma in publishing / book publishing/ editing/ publishing software (e.g. InDesign) or (ii) for a candidate who has been working in
substantive capacity in Gov’t/autonomous body/ PSU/ University in the field of publishing.
ii) Desirable : PhD or at-least 7-8 standard national/ international publications in publishing or related field.

Experience :
i) Essential : Minimum 10 years of teaching (UG/PG)/ research/ professional / industrial experience in publishing and related fields. In case of a candidate serving Gov’t/ autonomous body/ PSU/ University, at least 3 (three) years out of 10 (ten) years of experience as stated above, shall be in the pay-scale of Rs 12000-16500-18300 (pre-revised) and/or Rs.15600-39100 (with G.P of Rs.7600) (revised) or equivalent IDA pattern pay-scale.

A. Rs. 400 for un-reserved/ OBC category candidates.
B. Rs. 100 for SC/ST candidates.
C. ‘Nil’ for physically handicapped candidates (40% or above).
