Applications are invited from eligible male/female candidates for filling up the post of Staff Nurse in Safdarjang Hospital & VMMC.

Post : Staff Nurse

Pay Scale : (PB-2) (`9300-34800) + Grade pay: `4600 plus allowances as admissible to the Central Govt. employees from time to time.

No. of Post : 50* SC – 09 ST – 03 OBC – 13 UR – 25

Qualification & Experience :
(i) Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery or equivalent.
(ii) (a) Registered as Nurse; and b) Registered as Midwife or equivalent with any State Nursing Council.

Age Limit : 21 - 35 years (Age relaxation for S/C & S/T – 5 years and OBC for 3 years) and 5 years to Central Govt. employees.

How to apply : The candidates fulfilling the conditions of eligibility should apply for the post notified as per application format given in this notice. Application can also be downloaded from the website (vmmc-sjh.nic.in). Application should be filled in by the candidates either in Hindi or in English in their own handwriting.

The application must be accompanied by :
(I) Self attested copies of matriculation certificate or equivalent examination indicating date of birth as proof of age, educational qualifications including academic& Professional and registration certificates of GNM from any Nursing Council of India.
(II) Three self-addressed envelopes measuring 28 cm x 12 cm with postal stamp of Rs. 5/- duly affixed on each of them.

Applications will be treated as rejected in the cases where candidates do not send the documents asked for or send incorrect and incomplete application for or do not fulfill any of the eligibility criteria. No correspondence whatsoever shall be entertained in this regard.

(I) The application containing the application form must be superscribed in bold letters as “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF STAFF NURSE”.
(II) Applications which are not in the prescribed format will be rejected.
(III) Applications complete in all respects must reach to the Safdarjang Hospital within 30 days from the date of advertisement. Age will be reckoned from the closing date of advertisement.
(IV) The candidates should have the requisite academic qualification from a recognized Institution for the post applied for at the time of application itself.
(V) If a candidate produces false documents, he/she will not only be disqualified/ dismissed from services, if already appointed but may also be liable for at the time of application itself.

- Thorough hand washing at the entrance of the unit.
- Wearing of sterile uniforms
- Complete Checking of Inventory.
- Recording of vital signs.
- Checking and taking work over the assigned patients.
- Attend the nutritional needs of the patients.
- Follow Doctor’s rounds and carryout Doctor’s orders.
- Administration of Medications.
- Preparing articles and patients for medical or nursing procedures..
- Maintain intake and output chart.
- Emergency Management of the critically ill patients.
- Suctioning-endotracheal, oral and nasal under sterile techniques according to the needs.
- Keep ward neat and tidy.
- Maintain safety of the ward equipment.
- Prepare and check the ward supplies.
- Assist ward superior in ward management.
- Supervise students and other junior nursing personal.
- Rehabilitation.

I want to know what is the new date for the exam which was postponed on 07/10/2012.

The examination for the post Staff Nurse scheduled on 07.10.2012 is hereby cancelled until further orders.

The new date and centre of examination will be issued in due course of time and all the eligible candidates will be informed accordingly.
