Educational Qualification :
General Duty : Bachelor's degree with 60% marks in aggregate of a university recognized by the central/ state Govt./ UGC and Minimum of 60% marks in maths & physics (aggregate of both subjects) of 12th class or equivalent
General Duty (a) Pilot (b) Navigator or Observer Technical (Electrical/ Electronics)

How to apply : - Applications will be accepted 'online' w.e.f. 27 Feb 12. To do so, the candidates need to logon to the Website joincoastguard.org.
(i) Terms and conditions linked to the form will be displayed and must carefully be read, prior to submitting the form. The candidate will click on the ‘I Agree’ button, and then, immediately the Online Application form will be displayed. The candidate should select the required branch as indicated in para 2 above and fill all the particulars.
(ii) After submitting the form an acknowledgement with a Registration number will be provided to the candidate along with date, time and venue of the examination. The filled Application Form, with the number generated will be available to the candidate to save and take a print. For candidates NOT meeting the eligibility criteria, a ‘Rejection Slip, giving the cause of rejection with the Application Number’ will be displayed. The dates of applying online is from 27 Feb – 15 Mar 12.
(iii) After submitting online application, candidates are required to print two copies of the application with number generated by the system. Both copies of the print out of application duly signed with photograph affixed is to be carried by the applicant to the testing centre. Out of the two copies one copy shall be enclosed with class 10th certificate/mark sheet showing date of birth, 12th class certificate along with mark sheet showing subjects, Degree certificate/ mark sheets duly attested by the Gazetted Officer shall also be carried by the candidate for submission at the time of Preliminary Selection. Any candidate who does not carry all these documents at the time of PSB shall not be permitted to appear in the exam.
(iv) Candidates must submit only one online application. Receipt of multiple applications from the same candidate will result in cancellation of candidature.

Manufacturing Experience
A. Aluminum Rolling mill –
We have three Aluminum rolling mills for making 7.5 mm and 9.5 mm wire rod. Rolling mills are running with continuous casting and rolling principle.
B. MCVD Process –
In which we made core rods by oxidation reaction, takes place inside the glass tube. In MCVD (Modified Chemical Vaporization Deposition) Process we are using chemicals like Silicon Tetrachloride , Germanium Tetrachloride , Phoshporous oxychloride. All these chemical are reacted with oxygen at high temperature produces silicon dioxide, germanium dioxide and phoshporous pentaoxide respectively .This reaction is takes place inside pure silica tube and deposited inside tube forming core rod for process .
C. SLEEVING Process –
In which we insert core rod in the pure silica tube and collapse with the help of hydro-oxygen torch. Two types of sleeving process
a) vaccume sleeving process
b) full collapse sleeving process.
D. DRAWING of optical fiber -
I have hands on experience of drawing of single mode and multi mode optical fibre. I am worked as a production officer in drawing of optical fibre. For drawing of optical fibre from quartz glass we are using Induction and Resistance furnaces. Optical fibre is coated with acrylic coating which protect and gives the strength
E. OFFLINE Collapsing Process -
In this method we are removing core rod after closing phase in mcvd me. This core rod is taken on another lathe me where we can collapse fully by using resistance furnace to minimize OH penetration by hydro-oxygen flame.
F. SOOT Overcladding Process -
This is new method replacing sleeving process.In this method we are deposited Sio2 on core rod with the help of hydo-oxygen flame. After soot deposition process we have sintering process to convert pourous form of sio2 to pure glass
PROJECTS
A. Aluminum Rolling mill
- Checklist added as a daily job of shift incharge for improving process
- Developed launder covers for minimizing heat loss in running which results in reduction of furnish oil consumption
B. MCVD Process :
- In house design of tool for burner alignment.
- Removal of O ring cutting problem by developing fire polish stage..
- In house developing tool for Alignment of MCVD lathe chuck.
- Bubbles elimination by optimizing Helium Gas flow
- Improvement in Backward collapsing by introducing venture
C. Sleeving Process :
- Improvement in collapsing speed by changing burner alignment.
- Find out outer surface particles source during sleeving process.
- Introducing Rampdown phase after sleeving process which improves 1550
attenuation .
- Using chuck alignment and burner alignment tool for sleeving lathe also.
D. Drawing Process :
- Inhose development of helium reduction assembly which saves helium gas .
- New design of UV Iris - which helps in reducing fiber vibration during rampup.
- Design of Curl reduction assembly — which reduces curl failure from 4.5 % to 1.4%.
- Introducing Graphite preheating phase for improvements in Yield and Reduction in SI Break.
E. Offline Process :
- Graphite element design - which help in collapsing of core rod .
- High OD Handle rod ~ Which help in reducing bend in core rod during collapsing process.
F. Soot Overcladding Process -
- Torch Fume tube cleaner — Which helps in reducing scrap due to warts.
- Soot Break Reason Finding — Which help in reducing soot perform breakage.
- Improvement in capacity — by changing deposition torches and changes in process .
