Candidates are required to give their answers in their own words as far as practicable.
Figures in the margin indicate ful marks.
Perform the experiment alotted to you.
Examinees are required to perform ONE experiment from any one Section and also ONE activity from each of the two Sections.

    Section - A :
    Experiments :
    1. Find the resistance of a given wire using a P. O. Box and hence determine the specific resistance of its material.
    2. Verify the law of combination: (i) Series
(ii) Parallel of a resistance using a meterbridge.
    3. Find the resistance of a given wire using a meterbridge and hence determine the specific resistance of its material.
    4. Verify the law of combination (i) Series
    (i) Paralel of resistances using a P. O. Box.
    5. Establish current voltage relationship (Ohm?s law) for a conductor and find its resistance.
    6. Compare the e.m.f. of two given cels using a Potentiometer.
    1. Three resistors 2 , 3 , 4 are given. Connect them to get 9 and less then 1 . Verify your result.
    2. Give the circuit diagram of a household cir- cuit comprising three bulbs, three (on/off) switches, a fuse and a power source.
    3. What precautions are taken while connecting an ammeter, a voltmeter, a rheostat and a key ? Draw a circuit diagram to show the correct connection of these in a circuit.
    4. Measure the resistance of an inductor.
    5. Evaluate the resistance of a given resistor by using colour code of resistance.

    Section - B :
    Experiments :
    1. Find the focal length of a concave lens using a convex lens.
    2. Determine the angle of minimum deviation for a given prism by plotting a graph between the angle of incidence and the angle of deviation.
    3. Find the value of ? ? for different values of ?u? in case of a concave mirror and hence find focal length.
    4. Determine the refractive index of a glass slab using a traveling microscope.
    5. Find the focal length of a convex lens by plot- ting a graph between 1 u and 1 .

    Activities :
    1. Study the nature and size of the image formed by a convex lens using a candle and
screen (for different distances of the candle from the lens).
    2. Observe refraction and lateral deviation of a beam of light incident obliquely on a glass slab.
    3. Study the nature and size of the image formed by a concave mirror using a candle
    4. Find the refractive index of water using a concave mirror.
    5. Identify a diode, a transistor, a resistor and a capacitor from mixed colection of such items.
