Sri Kumaran Children’s Home Educational Council runs a group of institutions in Bangalore and has schools which offer CBSE, ICSE and SSLC Curricula. We also run a Pre- University College affiliated with the Karnataka State Education Department.

The Management strives to influence and enhance the quality of education by developing young children into responsible citizens. We moved into our new campus in June of 2009 and are in the process of major expansion. We are seeking talented, professional individuals who have the passion needed to become a teacher, confidence and the drive to assist in moulding our children to their finest potential.

PRIMARY SCHOOL - Classes I to III :

This person is responsible for organizing and implementing an instructional program that will result in students achieving academic success in accordance with the vision and mission of the school.
Primary Responsibilities :
Assess the needs of each child assigned to the resource room.
Develops an IEP stating each child’s present level of functioning, objectives to meet each child’s needs, methods/ materials used to meet these objectives and procedures and schedules for determining how and when objectives are met.
Develops and implements daily lesson plans that demonstrate how IEP’s are being fulfilled each day.
Creates learning materials to suit each child’s learning needs.
collaborating with the classroom teacher to define appropriate activities for the pupils in relation to the curriculum;
liaising closely with parents and guardians;
administration, including updating and maintaining records on pupils' progress;
Attending meetings and in-service training.

Position : Computer teachers for High School
Job Description : Handling Computer Classes from VIII to X with inclination towards content development. Helping students in the Lab to complete their projects.

Counsellors :

Position : Counsellors
Primary Responsibilities :
The candidate will be responsible for addressing the emotional needs of students. Helping students build their self-esteem, confidence and emotional strength is a large part of the responsibility. This will involve the use of individualized or group therapies based on the situation. It involves being approachable to students and inspiring in them the confidence that they will be heard in a non-judgmental, unbiased way. It involves establishing an open channel of confidential communication with them in an attempt to help them solve their problems and build their self-esteem. It involves providing consultation to concerned parents and teachers when necessary. It also involves being able to identify problems that are beyond the scope of normal counseling that may need psychiatric intervention, and sensitively referring students towards such help.
Education, certification and related work experience :
Candidates must be graduates/post-graduates with training in counseling from recognized institutes. They must have worked as counselors in a school environment for a minimum of 2 years.
Preference will be given to candidates who have worked with children/adolescents, or those that have specific training in the area of child/adolescent counseling.

Librarians and Assistant Librarians :

Position : Librarians and Assistant librarians
Unlike years ago where libraries were just a place to access books they now house books, virtual libraries, media, the internet and other resources. Librarians assist students and individuals in locating information and using it for professional or personal purposes. They also teach the students how to access, evaluate and use the appropriate information, such as navigating the internet to find relevant information quickly.
A librarian handles most of the aspects of library work such as ordering, processing materials, overseeing the budget, supervising student helpers and library clerical staff. They classify new materials by subject matter and describe the material or books, for easy access by students and teachers. They must be knowledgeable in computers as they play an important part in a librarian's job. They meet with teachers and plan cooperative units so that they fit in with the teachers intended course of study.
Primary Responsibilities :
Developing budgets for the library including expected purchases and maintenance expenses on existing equipment.
Ordering, receiving, cataloguing and displaying new materials including hardware, software, books, journals and other research materials.
Training staff and students on the use of the library including both technology and hard copy books.
Developing research projects and other teaching tools to help students become more efficient in finding material both in books and on the internet.
Managing the media center, audio-visual equipment and other materials as required.
Arranging visiting authors, poets and writers to present material to the students as part of literature appreciation.
Arranging book fairs and other events connected with the library.

Data Entry Operators :

Position : Data entry operators
Qualification :Graduate , Diploma in DTP.
Technical Skills : Familiarity with software like Corel Draw & Adobe Products. Minimum typing speed 50-60 wpm.
Job Description : Typing question papers, Designing worksheets, workbooks, certificates/posters/banners and updating the School Database using our Customized Software.

Music, Dance and Theatre Teams :

Position : Music, dance and theatre teams
Primary Responsibilities :
Theatre and drama are offered as part of the hobby classes for higher classes and the candidate should have experience in training students and also be prepared to develop stage productions for our annual day.
In the lower classes, theater, music and dance is part of the curriculum and the teacher should be able to get children to appreciate art and dance and music
