RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
Project Titles:
1. Process Validation of Alprazolam Tablets USP, Project carried out at Orchid Health Care, Chennai.
Description: To confirm and conclude all the critical parameters that meets the acceptance criteria of the industry that was set forth during the prospective validation phase. Alprazolam is indicated for the management of anxiety disorders or the short term relief symptoms of anxiety. Anxiety associated with depression and also indicated for the treatment of panic disorders with or without agoraphobia.
This project work was carried out with appropriate Plans, established protocols and specified methodology, as mentioned below.
Three Batches were taken for the evaluation of process Validation studies, namely Batch A, Batch B, Batch C with Selection of Suitable Equipments and Raw Materials. Execution of Process Validation studies as per the established validation protocols.
Collection and compilation of the primary data from the critical stages of manufacturing. Measuring and analyzing the critical parameters through control charts. Concluding with the suitable parameters that would consistently produce the product of quality attributes from the examined Batches.
The Alprazolam tablets was formulated using the instruments are Sifter, Rapid mixer granulator, Multi mill, Fluidized bed drier, Cage blender, Tablet compression machine, Metal detector, Blister packing machine, Weighing balance 220g, Weighing balance 60kg. And also process used , complies the acceptance criteria’s and hence can be suitably involved for the manufacturing of Alprazolam tablets USP.





2. Wound healing effect of polyherbal formulation and comparison with marketed
formulation.
Description: The aim of present study to evaluate the wound healing activity of poly herbal cream of Achyranthes aspera Linn, Tridax procumbens, Datura metel.

Excision and incision wound models were used for evaluation of wound healing activity against male wistar rats. The result of poly herbal cream was compared with untreated control group and Povidone iodine ointment treated group considered as positive control.
The Poly herbal cream treated group significantly enhanced the ensile strength while compared to untreated control group. The Poly herbal cream significantly promoted wound contraction and reduced the wound closure time, so increases tensile strength.

3. Preparation and Invitro evaluation of Oxcarbamazepine Niosomes
Description: The niosomes loaded with Oxcarbamazepine were prepared by rotary flask evaporation method. Various Non-ionic surfactants were used to achieve optimum encapsulation and the best formulations were obtained with span 60. With span 20 & span 80 less number of vesicles & Span 60 more spherical vesicles are obtained. The morphological studies performed using SEM showed uniform & spherical shape, discrete particle without aggregation and smooth in surface morphology with size range of 420, 450 & 430nm. Drug Entrapment Efficiency was found to be 46%, 84% & 55%.

The invitro release profiles of Oxcarbamazepine loaded Niosomes are F1, F2, and F3. Niosomal formulations F1 showed slow drug release of 54.99% at 24hours, F2 – 80.21% & F3-63.67% at 24hr. respectively. Initial burst release was observed up to 6hours, may be due to the presence of surfacial drug on the surface area of niosomes.
