Executive Training
The Executive training programmes in TLA caters to the needs of the working executives from NGO’s, Government Agencies and the Corporate Sector to upgrade their skills in order to improve efficiency. This training forms the basis of the fee based training programs focusing on the orientation of the Executive towards development issues. A three day format with quality training material and Resource persons with appropriate Pedagogy / Methodology is ensured in these training programmes; they range from soft skills like communication and presentation to carbon revenue and green building techniques.

TARA Livelihood Academy has been successful in training more than 1000 people in the years 2006 – 09 in the Executive Training Stream.

TLA Services
TARA Livelihood Academy (TLA) offers comprehensive training programmes on issues relating to its developmental activities. The Training Programmes are based on the organization’s practical field experiences and learning. TLA sees training not as an end in itself, but as part of a larger process that includes application of learning into development activities. The Programmes are designed to include interactive presentations, sharing of actual experiences, discussions, practical insights and hands-on exercises and field visits wherever suitable. Each training includes development of individual action plans to ensure that after the completion of the course, participants are able to actually implement what they have learnt during the program. All topics would, therefore, require participants to work on group/ individual assignments which are thereafter reviewed by the faculty in order to provide critical feedback.

Tailor-made Courses
To maximise the utility of training for participants, TLA provides customized trainings on specific topics relating to its core areas, in which it customises trainings to the specific requirements of participating individuals or organizations. These specially designed trainings enable the participants to adapt their learning and field observations so as to meet their organizational and professional development needs. Such tailor-made trainings require small groups of at least ten participants.

Faculty
TLA relies on its large pool of experts to provide quality training. They hail both from its internal pool of professionals and an external pool of faculty with whom TLA collaborates whenever necessary. By following a rigorous screening mechanism, it ensures that the faculty best suited for the participants are made available in the training.

Participants
In general, while conducting any training, TLA groups the participants with similar training requirements. In cases where the organizations request for training on a particular aspect of the topic or application in a particular geographical setting, the contents are modified in consultation with either the participants or their organization.
