SELECTION PROCESS :
The eligible candidates with application form duly completed should report at the designated recruitment Centre on dates mentioned in Para-4. The Candidates who report at the designated recruitment Centers on the given date and time will be put through the selection process consisting of following stages :-

a) Height Bar Test. The candidates will be put through the Height Bar test and qualified candidates will be sent for registration.
b) Registration : The candidates qualifying the height Bar test, will be required to submit duly filled application form and registration slip (duplicate) at the Recruitment Centre. The candidates will be issued a registration No. and date of PST/PET.
c) Race : After registration, the candidates will be subjected to 5 kilometers race to be completed within 24 minutes. In case of recruitment at Leh-Ladakh, candidates will be required to run 1.6 km. race to be completed within 6.30 minutes.
d) Physical Measurement : Candidates, who are qualified in race, will be screened first for height, chest and weight measurements.
e) Physical Efficiency Test (PET) : The candidates who are found fit in Physical Measurements will be required to pass PET (Qualifying) consisting of following events:-
(i) 11 feet long jump (03 chances to be given)
(ii) 3 feet 6 inches high jump (03 chances to be given)
Note : Those who do not qualify the Physical Efficiency Tests will be removed form process there only and will not be allowed to appear in further tests.
f) Biometric verification : Finger impression in respect of candidates qualified the Physical Standard Test will be captured immediately and will be verified on subsequent recruitment tests to avoid impersonation.
g) Documentation : The candidates who qualify in the Physical Efficiency Test will be required to produce all relevant documents, in original only, as mentioned in para 7 above.
h) Written Test (100 Marks) :
(i) The candidates who qualify in the Documentation stage will be required to appear in a written test.
(ii) The question paper will be set (Bi-lingual i.e. in Hindi & English) to assess the general awareness/General Knowledge, Knowledge of Elementary Mathematics, analytical aptitude and ability to observe and distinguish patterns and to test basic knowledge of candidate in English/Hindi. The question paper will carry 100 objective type multiple choice questions and would carry 100 marks.
(iii) Minimum qualifying marks for General and Ex-Servicemen- 35% and for SC/ST and OBC category candidates is 33%.
j) Interview : There will be no interview in this recruitment.
k) Merit Lists : Merit lists will be drawn separately in respect of vacancies as given at para-4, in each category namely, Gen, SC, ST, OBC and Ex-servicemen, on the basis of marks obtained in the written test. On the basis of this merit list, the candidates will be shortlisted for detailed medical examination.
l) Detailed Medical Examination :- Candidates shortlisted in order of merit as per category wise number of vacancies, will be put through detailed medical examination to assess their fitness.
m) Appeal against Detailed Medical Examination
i) A candidate declared unfit in detailed medical examination, if not satisfied with the findings of the Medical Officer, can submit an appeal for his re-medical examination with duly filled Medical Fitness Certificate in the prescribed proforma (Annexure-„VI?) as a piece of evidence about possibility of error of judgment in the decision of the Medical Officer at the time of Recruitment.
ii) The appeal for re-medical examination will not be taken into consideration unless it contains duly filled medical fitness certificate in the prescribed proforma (Annexure-„VI?), a note by the medical practitioner concerned to the effect that it has been given in full knowledge of the fact that the candidate has already been rejected as unfit for appointment by a Medical Officer.
iii) The appeal for re-medical examination will not be taken into consideration unless the original Rejection Slip issued by the Presiding Officer is enclosed and re-medical examination Fee of Rs. 25/- is also enclosed in form of Indian Postal Order or Demand Draft in the name of Commandant, Base Hospital, ITB Police, New Delhi.
(iv) The appeal should be submitted within 15 days from the date of rejection, to

The appeals received after 15 days will not be entertained. ITBP will not be responsible for Postal delay.
(v) The decision of the Re-medical Board of ITBP shall be final and no 2nd appeal will be entertained as per Govt. instructions and also no reply of the correspondence/2nd appeal will be given/entertained.
