At SRS we have the infrastructure for a laparoscopic training institute for all the surgical & medical faculties provided in our hospital. This training institute aims at training surgeons in Minimal Invasive Surgery and to hone their skills. At the institute we will be offering training ranging from 7 days to 6 months time period and will comprise of a Certificate courses, Diplomas and Fellowships offered by local national and international universities. This training institute will be assisted by Richard Wolf from Germany & Ethicon (of Johnson & Johnson) Mumbai, India.

The training will be carried out on advanced training instruments like Stimulators and will also include training on Cadavers – Cadaveric surgery & also in Animal Lab. The learners will then have the opportunity to assist in actual surgery under expert guidance & trainers. The trainers are a faculty of experts selected for their expertise all across the globe. The trainers would also observe the acquired skills of the trainees with actual surgery to assess the capabilities and improvement opportunities to ensure that the trainee is capable of performing surgeries independently.

The endeavor is a means to achieve a long sought dream of taking medical benefits to the total population of India & to surrounding countries & more significantly, to the rural population and peripheral patients. The benefits are that the will face minimal trauma, minimal bleeding which will avoid need for blood transfusion, minimal pain, quick recovery and the ability to return to work in an unimaginably short period of time. Thus, the patient will be back on his feet at the earliest in spite of undergoing major surgery.

The need for the training institute was felt to hone newer skills and techniques for the existing surgeons who have found it very difficult in their busy schedule to spare time and travel outside their area causing a lot of upheaval to their patients.

This institute aims at refining existing skills, upgrading old skills and enables the reach of minimal invasive surgery to all parts of the country and neighboring areas of the continent.
