Business Devt Manager for Indias Top Supply Chain Organization
The successful candidate will be responsible for major sales growth and business development of all activities of the Council in the Indian continent.
Membership
- Evaluate the professionâs attitudes to the Council advertising, services, events and benefits to ensure the timely adjustment of the Councilâs output to meet the membershipâs ever-changing needs;
- Develop new value-added services for members when opportunities arise;
- Conducts marketing surveys on the Councilâs existing and newly-introduced benefits;
- Coordinate activities aimed at maintaining and increasing the Councilâs membership;
- Handle membersâ enquiries and correspondence in a courteous, helpful and efficient manner, reporting complaints or problems if no immediate solution can be found, and following-up promptly;
- Develop strategic plans to target key segments to stimulate response from prospects and encourage retention of current members.
Sales & Marketing:
- Monitor and analyze industry trends and monitor competitors;
- Provide support in developing and launching new initiatives to help grow marketing exposure;
- Develop and manage barters agreements with magazines, websites and trade shows in India;
- Recommend audience segmentation, production and execution of direct marketing campaigns;
- Ensure effective control of marketing results and that the achievement of marketing objectives is within designated budgets, and take corrective action where necessary.
Events & Activities:
- Develop, manage and implement a comprehensive range of events and activities aimed at providing members with the information and networking opportunities which are beneficial to their supply chain operations in India;
- Schedule and attract notable and relevant speakers. Establish and maintain an effective format for speaker event documents and consistently maintain excellent standards;
- Coordinates events including workgroups, seminars, site tours, trainings, trade shows, conferences and summits;
- Work to plan an entire event to include all aspects of pre-planning, on-site, and post-planning activities.
- Helps develop the schedule and agenda of each event with speakers;
- Drive the venue selection process such as leading the research of venues, assist with contacting properties and secure proposals by RFP, provide proposal reports to Executive Director for their final selection, negotiate excellent contracts, keeps effective communications with possible venue sites and notify hotels that were not selected.
- Supervise events logistics (AV, F & B, security, room sets, faculty communications, etc)
Others:
- Provide strategic advice to the Executive Director in developing the Council activities and events in the region, as well as briefing them on the overall business and cultural environment;
- Responsible for preparing the annual strategic plan to ensure that the Councilâs objectives are fully addressed.
- Respond to requests to undertake any reasonable tasks and secondary duties as directed by the Board; be supportive of change wherever so directed by the board.
- Exercise responsible management and behaviour at all times and positively represent the Council;
- Fully comply with the Councilâs governance policy, rules and regulations.
- Operate transparently at all times and with uncompromising ethical standards
- Develop and recommend the expenditure and cost strategy for the Council's board which will result in the greatest long and short term revenue/profit.
Desired Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will have:
- Recent work experience and contacts in professional organization, chamber of commerce, events organizer or related membership based organization.
- Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively in English with Council HQ in Shanghai by email, telephone, fax and in person. Fluency in written and oral English is essential. Knowledge of relevant local dialects may also be an advantage.
- Experience in using computer software solutions for business activities. Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint is essential. Experience using the Internet for information searching is also important.
- Well-developed marketing skills and ability to deliver members-oriented services;
- Ability to meet deadlines; work under pressure and work as a member of a team.
- Willingness and ability to work sometimes flexible hours in a âvirtual officeâ environment, occasionally working remotely from an office location using information technology (laptop computer, mobile phone, internet access) to undertake work activities.
- A positive, confident, resourceful attitude to work that can be challenging and varied.
