STCW-95 COURSES
The STCW -95 courses are a mandatory requirement for all seafarers. Off course the type of course required by each person depends upon the qualification of the individual and the capacity in which he will be employed on board. In other words a deck officer is required to do courses which are different from those an engineer officer is required to do. The courses are designed in accordance with the International Maritime Organization Model and approved by Government of India.

COURSES FOR OFFSHORE INDUSTRY
These courses are for personnel working on board offshore oil rigs and platforms. The syllabi and the conduct of these courses, wherever applicable, is in accordance with standards laid down by Offshore Petroleum Training Organization.

About Us
The ships today are highly sophisticated and hence require a highly skilled man power. Unfortunately, the seafarer training world wide has been rather disorganized and of poor quality. To some extent, this has improved with the advent of STCW 95.

The Naval Maritime Academy (NAMAC) was setup in 1998 as a non-governmental, welfare project of the Western Naval Command of the Indian Navy.
