    Residential Course
    PRE SEA GP Rating Course (General Purpose)
    This programme enables participants to join the merchant navy as General Purpose ratings combined Deck/Engine side. With further sea – service they will be promoted as a Oiler, motor man, fitter, Able-Bodied Sea men and BOSUN. They can also be promoted to officer level with certain service with qualifications.

    Curriculum for Pre-Sea Training for G.P Rating
    Standard marine Navigational Vocabulary and use of English Language. Knowledge of ships and shipping industry. Contribute to Monitoring and controlling sea watch. Steer the ship as per the Helm Orders. Keep a proper look out by site and by Hearing. Operate Emergency equipment and apply Emergency Procedure. Survival at sea in the Event of Ship abandonment. Minimize Risk of Fire, Fight and Extinguish Fires. Take Immediate Action Upon Encountering an Accident or Other Medical Emergency. Comply with Emergency Procedure, Pollution Prevent and environment protection. Human Relationship on Board Ship. Machinery in Engine Room, Service maintenance of a engine room machineries. Carry Out Watch Keeping Duties ion Deck as well as in Engine room, Safe Working Practice to be observed.
    Eligibility Criteria
    10th Pass - total Average mark is 40% plus 40% in English separate.
    Age: 17 ½ to 25 Years
    Duration: 6 months
    Fees
    Rs.2,00,000/- inclusive of Tuition fee, Board & Lodging, Uniform and books.
    Medically fit as per M.S (Medical Examination of seafarers) Rules 2000. Eyesight 6x6.
