MBA Program Eligibility

The admission process at DoMS has been designed to select students of substantial analytical ability, communication skills, ability to work in groups and leadership potential. DoMS MBA admissions follow a rigorous multistage selection process to admit meritorious students from all parts of the country.

The minimum academic qualifications to apply for admission to the MBA program at IIT Madras are as follows :
** B.E./B.Tech. (or equivalent) with First Class (or equivalent) from a recognized Institution or University
** A Masters degree with First Class (or equivalent) in any discipline from a recognized Institution or University.
** Final year students (of the above-mentioned program) are also eligible to apply. Such candidates, if selected, will be admitted provisionally, on the condition that they complete all requirements for the qualifying degree before the start of the program and produce provisional certificate of completion within two months of joining the program.

Sponsored Candidates :
Candidates may be sponsored by their employers to pursue an MBA at IIT Madras. Candidates should forward their application through proper channel. They must have a minimum work experience of two years in the sponsoring organization. Applicants with a valid, good score in national level entrance tests such as CAT/XAT/MAT or equivalent would be preferred. They will be selected on the basis of their performance in the group task and interview. Defense personnel are exempted from the national level entrance test. Candidates who are working with the Defense forces are encouraged to apply respective government agencies.
Sponsored candidates will have to appear for the group task and personal interview along with other regular candidates.

Non-Resident Indian and Foreign Nationals :
Selection shall be on the basis of :
** GMAT score
** Academic record
** Letters of reference and
** Work experience, if any
They also have to submit copies of their citizenship-related documents while applying for the program.

Selection procedure :
DoMS requires candidates to have a valid score on the Common Admission Test (conducted by IIM), or a valid GMAT score.
Based on the CAT scores, candidates are short-listed and called for the next round. Candidates are required to appear for a group task and personal interview on the specified date and location.

Final selection to the program depends on :
** CAT/GMAT score
** Academic record
** Letters of reference and
** Work experience, if any
