WORK EXPERIENCE AS A COUNSELOR IN HEERA CCC : RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Conducting monthly meetings with the project team.
- Organizing capacity building training programmers to the staff members.
- Responsible for the overall implementation of Project in the District
- Reporting and documentation.
- Field visits for monitoring & supervision of staff
- Liaison with NGOs, different GOVT Departments, other service providers.
- Developing proper co-ordination linkage within & outside the district.
- Facilitating and motivating people living with HIV/AIDS to avail their entitlements.
- Self plan up for Existing working criteria development.
- Every month Conducting support group meetings for PLHIV people.

- Role & Responsibilities :
- Responsible to address the psychological needs of the People Living with HIV (PLHIV) in holistic way.
- Psychosocial case management and treatment preparedness of patients, ensuring the emotional and spiritual well-being.and Social case study and Group counseling with PLHIV.
- Provide pre and post test counseling, follow up counseling, family counseling, discharge counseling, nutritional assessment counseling, group counseling, drug adherence counseling, grief and bereavement counseling,.
- Provide counseling to pregnant women; provide suggestions on feeding options and delivery options for HIV positive pregnant woman.
- Facilitate the Support Group Meetings every month, Organize peer groups, support groups for care centre activities.
- Facilitating and developing Referral linkages around the District level NGOs and service providers.
- Educate PLHIV and family members on Positive Prevention linked with care, support and treatment.
- Plan admission and Discharge for PLHIV, Case recording Documentation filling system and Program Development.
- Reporting on feed back to the Medical Officer regarding individual cases.
- Reporting to the administrator on the data requirements for monitoring and reporting.
- Day today updating the maintaining all records at the PLC.
- Organizing all the events (including logistics) to be conducted at Positive Living Centre on a regular basis.
- Provide technical assistance to the outreach workers/ peer educators on updates.
- Conducting Life skills sessions with children along with other recreational activities.
- Compliment the work of the outreach team in mapping, advocacy, BCC sessions & others.

- NACO training for Counselors (Twelve days) organized by KHPT - GFATM at Dharwad University.
- Child counseling Training for counselors (five days) conducted by KHPT engender health at vidya deepa collage Bangalore.
- Training done in “Counselling and Sequence of Care in CCCs”(Three Days) under NIMHNS with Collaborating KHPT-Bangalore.
- Outreach workers training for counselors(five days) organized by KSAPS at Manglore
- HIV-TB Training for counselors(one day) orgnised by KSAPS at Indian Sociaty of Health Administrator (ISHA)Bangalore.
- PPTK Training for Counselors (Five days) organized by KHPT at Gajani Foundation Mulki in Mangalore.
