Job Description
As part of our plan to build a dynamic, top-class research and consultancy centre, we are seeking outstanding candidates at both entry level and with years of experience. While ability to work on a R&D project independently is an asset, it is essential that the candidates should have the affinity to work in a team to achieve success for goal-oriented, innovative R&D projects and solution of complex problems. The R&D area will include basic aspects such as marine and offshore hydrodynamics, dynamic response and analysis of free and constrained structures in the marine environment and advanced structural analysis of ships and/or other maritime structures (e.g. offshore, sub-sea pipelines etc.) and ship systems.

The vacancy is for our in-house research and development team at Samundra Institute of Maritime Studies, Lonavala (near Pune)

Desired Candidate Profile
a. Research Engineer: 1 vacancy
M Tech/ME in IC Engines/Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline in line with requirements of marine engineering field, experienced in design & optimization of thermal systems, simulation and analysis packages, total energy management, etc. Ph D in relevant field.
At least eight years of R&D or suitable industrial experience, preferably with a Ph.D. degreeâ
b. Jr. Research Engineer 1 vacancy
BE/B Tech in Mechanical Engineering, having experience in line with requirements of marine engineering field, design & optimization of thermal systems, simulation and analysis packages, total energy management, etc. Postgraduate having familiarity with software like FLUENT, ANSYS etc. preferred.
Experience in R&D or suitable industrial experienceâ & Masters degree is preferable
c. Research Engineer 1 Vacancy
Computer-based structural analysis and willing to orient to ship & maritime applications (if not already in this area), (min requirements: B.Tech or equivalent in Naval Architecture or Mechanical engineering)
Experience in R&D or suitable industrial experienceâ & Masters degree is preferable

d. Research Engineer 1 Vacancy
CFD, preferably with free-surface and knowledge of water waves, wave modeling (min requirements: B.Tech or equivalent in Naval Architecture or Mechanical engineering)

e (Jr) Research Engineer 1 Vacancy
Sensors, Instrumentations & controls (Min requirements: B.Tech or equivalent in electronics, electrical, Instrumentation and control or computer engineering)

Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge and experience in one or more of these areas in addition to having generic research skills such as analytical thinking, numerical modeling and/or experimental capabilities.
