Recruitment against Cultural quota for the year 2011-12

Applications are invited from Indian nationals for recruitment against two Cultural quota vacancies in Group-C in Band Pay Rs.5200-20200 (Grade pay Rs.1900/-) (RSRP-2008) in East Coast Railway for the year 2011-12. Candidates fulfilling the following eligibility conditions may apply:

Cultural Disciplines :
i) Tribal Dancer – 1 vacancy
ii) Synthesizer Player – 1 vacancy

Professional Cultural Qualifications :
Essential:
i) Tribal Dancer: Possession of Degree / Diploma / Certificate in Dance from Government recognized institute.
ii) Synthesizer Player: Possession of Degree / Diploma / Certificate in Music from Government recognized institute.
Desirable:
(i) Experience in the relevant field and performance given on AIR / Doordarshan etc.
(ii) Prizes won at National level.

Educational Qualification : Pass in Matriculation or its equivalent from a recognized board. (50% marks in the aggregate will be required for NTPC categories. 50% marks are not required for SC/ST candidates, and for candidates having higher qualification.)

Age as on 01.01.2012 : UR : 18 – 30 Years OBC : 18 – 33 Years SC/ST: 18 - 35 Years

Application Fee: UR and OBC candidates should submit with the application an Indian Postal Order (issued after the date of this notification) for an amount of Rs.40/- drawn in favour of FA&CAO, East Coast Railway, payable at Bhubaneswar. SC/ST, ex-servicemen, physically challenged, women, minority candidates (Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists & Zorastrians [Parsis]) and candidates belonging to economically backward classes (whose family income is less than Rs.50,000/- per annum) need not pay this fee.

Applicant should submit one additional copy of the same photograph by firmly stitching it on the top left corner of the application form.
Applicant should enclose with the application a set of legible xerox copies of all certificates, duly attested by a gazetted officer, in proof of Cultural achievements, educational qualification, age, SC/ST/OBC status etc. Applications without supporting documents duly attested by a gazetted officer will be rejected.
Applicant should write on the top of the envelope containing the application as follows: “Application against Cultural Quota recruitment for the year 2011-12.”
Application should reach the address shown at para-8 above on or before the closing date and time mentioned at the top of this notification. Railway administration shall not be responsible for any postal delays. Late applications would be summarily rejected.
