2 Eligibility Conditions
Qualification: Operator-cum-Technician – Trainee
I) Pass in Matriculation and
II) Three years full time Diploma in Engineering in Metallurgy/Mechanical (General) / Electrical and Electronics / Instrumentation Technology.

3 Period of Training: Minimum period of two years which can be extended as per rules.

4 Pay during training period:
Post Consolidated Stipend (Rs./ month) First Year Second Year
Operator-cum-Technician -Trainee 8250/- 9350/-
Scales of pay on regular employment after training period:(Due for revision W.E.F 1-1-2012)
Post Grade Scale of pay
Operator-cum-Technician – Trainee S3 Rs.9160-3% -13150/-

5 Application Fee and Processing Fee:
Operator-cum-Technician Trainees – Application Fee of Rs.250/-(Rupees Two Hundred & Fifty only) for General and OBC category candidates. Processing Fee of Rs.50/- (Rupees Fiftyh only) for SC/ST/PH candidates. Application Fee and Processing fee should be paid in the form of Non-Refundable Demand Draft in favour of – SAIL-VISL, Payable at Bhadravathi-577 301, Shivamogga District, Karnataka State and drawn on any Nationalised Bank.

Incomplete, illegible, unsigned, application without demand draft of requisite amount or application without recent passport size coloured photograph will be summarily rejected. Envelope containing the application should be clearly super-scribed “Application for the post of “Operator-cum-Technician-Trainee” in Visvesvaraya Iron & Steel Plant”.
Visvesvaraya Iron & Steel Plant reserves the right to reject any applications or cancel the candidature and no communication in this regard will be made with the applicant.

How To Apply :
Eligible and interested candidates would be required to apply only through SAILs. Website sail.co.in ---- .
Before registering the application on the website the candidates should possess a) valid email ID. b) Demand Draft for Rs.250/- for General and OBC candidates, Rs.50/- for SC/ST/PH candidates. SC/ST/PH/OBC candidates are required to submit a self attested copy of caste/disability certificate. Caste certificate issued by the Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tahsildar and self attested colour photograph against light background must be attached along with the application.
OBC candidates have to produce certificate issued by the District Magistrate / Dy. Commissioner etc. in the prescribed format with the heading “Form of certificate to be produced by Other Backward Classes (OBC) applying for appointment to post under Govt. of India. Please see Annexure-1, 2 and 3.
Applications not accompanied with copies of Matriculation, Diploma Certificate, Caste Certificate, PH Certificate, Demand Draft, Photograph shall be rejected. On the reverse side of the Demand Draft candidates name, address, application no. post applied for and category must be written.
