Academic Project

Project1 : Implementation of TPM: Case Application
Description :
In the project, I worked in EMKAY TOOLS PVT. LTD for TPM application. Our group identified various problems such as oil spillage, poor illumination and slippery workplace.
After identifying these problems we decided to work upon “Kobetsu Kaizen” as one of the pillar of TPM for our project. We implemented steps like providing tray which reduced cleaning time and cleaning cost from Rs.1,44,000 p.a. to one time investment of Rs.16,000.

Project2 : Mechanical Pump Air Cooler
Description :
The basic objective to undertake this project is to reduce the electric consumption into the system and hence electricity cost.
In normal desert cooler, two separate motors are used to perform two different operations; one is to rotate the fan and another is to pump the water. Both the motor requires two different electric connections. And our aim was to eliminate the use of electricity to run the water pump. We had only a scope to synchronize both the operations i.e. rotation of fan and pumping of water. So the rotation of shaft of fan motor is used to pump the water by providing some transmission system between them.

Project3 : Manually Operated Hydraulic Floor Crane
Description :
This type of crane is generally used in shop floor for the transportation of heavy components, heavy workparts, etc. that are beyond human limits, from one place to another place. The working is same as automatic crane but only the difference is that instead of engine power a human effort is required to drive the equipment. Hydraulic pressure is applied to lifting of weight. The parts used are hydraulic cylinder, pillar, jib, crane hook, hand-pump, base, etc. This crane is compact in size, easy to use, noiseless operation and very effective in shop floor activities.
