Central Road Research Institute is one of the constituent unit of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi, which is a public funded premier R&D organization of the country striving to generate new knowledge, products, processes and technologies in diversified fields of Science and Engineering. CSIR has a network of 37 world-class R&D Institutions/Laboratories spread across the country having modern infrastructural facilities and pool of talented Scientists, Engineers and Technologists who are engaged on R&D areas of national importance thereby bringing about economical, environmental and societal benefits to the nation as a whole.

We are looking for the young, dynamic and talented professionals for the following positions:-

Position : Scientists – 14 Posts (07-UR, 04-OBC, 02-SC, 01-ST) (out of these 14 posts, two posts are reserved for Persons with Disabilities)

Scale of Pay : Rs.15600-39100 with Grade Pay of Rs.6600*(PB-3)

Age limit : 32 years.

The date of determining the upper age limit, qualifications and/or experience shall be the closing date prescribed for receipt of Application Form i.e., 6th Feb, 2012.

An Application Fee of Rs.100/-(Rupees One Hundred only) is payable, separately for each post, (Candidates belonging to SC/ST community, Persons With Disabilities and Regular employees of CSIR are exempted from payment of application fee) in the form of crossed Demand Draft valid for a period of atleast 5 months from the last date of receipt of applications. Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of Director, CRRI payable at State Bank of India, CRRI, New Delhi.

Applications (i) not accompanied with prescribed application fee, (ii) without the requisite information asked for in the Application Format; and (iii) received after the due date will not be considered. Incomplete applications will be out rightly rejected.

Candidate must enclose the following certificates/documents while submitting his/her Hard copy of the Online Application Form :-
a. An application fee of Rs. 100/-(Rupees One hundred only), separately for each post, which should be only in the form of Crossed Demand Draft payable at New Delhi and drawn in favour of DIRECTOR, CENTRAL ROAD RESEARCH INSTITUTE, NEW DELHI.
b. Attested copy of Matriculation or equivalent certificate with mark sheet.
c. Attested copy of Mark Sheets of Degree/Diploma and Certificate issued by the concerned authority.
d. Attested copy of caste certificate issued by the Competent Authority in respect of SC/ST/OBC candidates. In case of OBC candidates, the OBC certificate should be in the format prescribed by the Government of India.
e. Attested copy of disability certificate issued by the Competent Authority in the form prescribed by the Government of India.
f. Attested copy of experience certificate(s), if applicable.

The date of commencement of filling up the Online Application Form is 7th Jan, 2012. The last date for receipt of Online Application is 6th Feb, 2012. The hard copy of the Online Application should reach CRRI on or before 15th Feb, 2012.

Train Signaling
Train signaling deals with automatic turning on and off of signaling lights situated on the side of the tracks as the train passes . It needs to be on for a pre-specified safety duration so as to avoid any collisions from any train on the same track. Also it needs to turn on green after the specified time automatically
Automatic Breaking
It deals with the application of infra red sensors and a dc motor present in the engine of a train which can be governed with the help of the above sensors. When the sensor sense a red signal , it automatically stops the train by transmitting rf signals to the dc motor engine of next train
Level Crossing/buzzer
Level crossing holds the responsibility of automatically shutting on and off the crossing gates as and when train arrives. It employs the use of a dc motor present at the signaling gate which rotates both clockwise and anticlockwise with the help of two transformers. A buzzer can also be connected to indicate train arrival.
