Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited is a Power Generation Company of erstwhile GEB having Power Stations at different locations. Applications are invited for the post of Deputy Engineer (Civil) on regular establishment and the candidates meeting with the following qualifications and experience shall submit on-line applications. Candidates will work as Deputy Engineer (Civil) in the pay scale of Rs.21200-42000 for on going civil activities at the project site in the various Power Plants of GSECL.
Present Vacancies : 06 at different Project Sites.
Qualification : BE (Civil) with 60 % marks for unreserved (and 55% for reserved) and ME (Civil) will be preferred.
Experience : 4 years post qualification experience of Civil works at the project site, infrastructure development and handling big M&R work related for projects.
Age Limit : 35 years for unreserved category and 40 years for SC, ST, SEBC categories.
Pay Scale : Rs.21200-42000

o I had been working for Resources Development Consultant Pvt Ltd in the Japanese International Cooperation Agency funded Rural Roads Developments Project in the Eastern Province as an Assistant consultant Engineer from September 2010 to January 2011. I am responsible for designing the concrete roads incorporated with the feasibility study, preparing BOQs, tender documents & supervising the Engineering staff during the construction
o I have worked for Conmix Pvt Ltd as Project Manager in Maruthamunai From September 2009 to August 2010. This project is a construction of a school funded by UNICEF.
I am responsible for planning & coordinating the project & also supervising the Engineering staff. Correspondence with the consultants, conducting the site meetings, monitoring & tracking the progress are my duties
o I have worked in Pro-Poor Rural Development Project, which is mostly Rural Road construction in Ampara District, as Project Management & Monitoring Consultant assigned by Resources Development Consultants From December 2007 to August 2009
Duties are as follows
1. Advising the Contractors & the Technical Staff to improve the Quality Assurance & Quality Control System.
2. Conducting the Seminars such as Quality Assurance system ,Tender Procedure , Good Engineering Practices in Construction & Project Monitoring System
3. Assisting Project Implementation Unit to Designing & Tendering including preparing Engineering Estimates for BOQ works of Sub Projects.
4. Visiting the sites, supervising the quality control system & holding the Progress Review Meetings.(29 number sub projects).The following road constructions were under my supervision & consultancy
- Tarred Roads (metalling & tarring) including side drains, cross drains & Culverts 16 km length
- Reinforced Concrete Roads with gravel shoulders including necessary side drains, cross drains & culverts -34km length
- 100 m length Hume Pipe Vented Causeway
Total construction cost of the above roads were 365 million SLR
- I have served for United Nation Office for Project Services (UNOPS) as Area Engineer from April 2005 to November 2007 in Ampara District.(All Building Sites) Duties are as follows
1. Coordinating & supervising the construction of UNICEF Hospitals & Schools sites (Tsunami Rehabilitation work)
2. Coordinating with UNICEF, Monitoring the progress and reporting.
3. Managing the Direct Implementation Sites,(Hospitals)
- Served for Urban Development and Low Income Housing Project funded by Asian Development Bank, which is governed by Ministry of Housing & Plantation Infrastructure as an Engineer from September 2000 to March 2005.My main role was administration of contracts, Supervision and Implementation of large Urban Infrastructure Development Project and Preparation of necessary documents prior to procurement of Civil Contracts for ADB.
Also I was involved in the following subprojects for supervision on the behalf of the Client.

1. Development of town centre roads in Kurunegala. Asphalting & DBST for road Furniture - Project Cost 110 million Rupees
2. Galwala Community Upgrading Project (Development of Hosing, Roads, Water Supply & Sanitation and other necessary Infrastructure facilities) - Project Cost 25 million Rupees.
3. Development of Bus station and Commercial Complex in Kurunegala Project Cost 75 million Rupees.
4. Improvements to Storm Water Drainage in Puttalam.-Project Cost 113 million Rupees.
5. Subway Construction at Clock Tower Junction in Kurunegala Town-Project Cost 75 million Rupees.
6. Construction of Anaerobic Filters in Kurunegala. -Project Cost 2 million Rupees.
In Badulla)
1. Improvements to Municipal Council Roads in Badulla. - Project Cost 90 million Rupees.
2. Improvement to Bridge across Badulu Oya at Hanwella.
- Served for Cibuilro Engineering Pvt Ltd as a Site Manager from May 1997 to September 2000.Duties were Programming & monitoring the work, Setting out of the building, making the material order, Supervising the Construction works, Dealing with the consultants & the client and Preparing the Main Bill to client (All Building Projects)
1. Bus Station & Commercial Centre at Polonnaruwa Project Cost 51 million Rupees.
2. Construction of Police Station & ASP office at Nittambuwa-Project Cost 20 million Rupees.
3. Construction of Clinical Block for the Faculty Of Medicine at Karapitiya , Galle-Project Cost 54 million Rupees.
- Served for Maga Engineering (Pvt) Ltd as a Civil Engineer from May 1994 to March 1997.Duties were the Setting out of the Building, Programming & Monitoring the Progress & Supervising the Construction work.(All Building Projects)
1. Construction of Taj Exotica Hotel at Bentota Project Cost 400 million Rupees.
