· Active participation in recruitment/training for all categories of employees.

Judge Advocate General (JAG) Officer

Distinction of being from the first batch of Lady Officers in the Indian Army. The Judge Advocate General (JAG) Branch entails their officers to litigate cases soon after joining and they are required to function in variety of fields, giving a wider range of experience vis-à-vis in the civilian sector. As a JAG Officer, was trained to assume a level of responsibility that is difficult to find in civilian practice and it assists in developing leadership traits, confidence and experience so highly prized in the legal profession. As an officer in the JAG Branch, some of the responsibilities included: -
· Acting as prosecuting attorney, defense attorney, or judge in court cases.
· Prepare pretrial advice for clients in court-martial cases.
· Preside over court cases and make judgments based on the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
· Interpret laws, directives, regulations, and court decisions.
· Give legal advice about government real estate, commercial contracts, patents, and trademarks to the formation commanders.
· Help train new lawyers.
· Provide legal assistance to Army personnel.
· Being an instructor at the Indian Military Institute of Law.

MISCILLENAEOUS SKILLS & TRAINING
· Practising lawyer at High Court in Chandigarh (1991 -1992).
· Served in the Indian Army in the Judge Advocate General (JAG) Department (1992-2000).
· Took voluntary retirement from the Army and proceeded to Australia to enhance cultural and social sensitivity (2001-2003).
· Worked independently as a Defence Counsel in various Court Martials in the Army at Delhi and other places.
· Handling of various Legal Cells independently while serving in the Army.
