Rolling Advertisement for Faculty Positions

IISER Bhopal invites applications from eligible candidates for faculty positions at various levels in Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Computer Sciences, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences (Economics, English and Psychology), Mathematics and Physical Sciences. Applicants should have a doctoral degree with an excellent academic record and suitable research or industrial experience. Applicants who do not fulfill minimum experience requirements may be considered for a contractual position. Eligibility criteria may be relaxed in the case of candidates with outstanding credentials. Allowances and perks will be given as per Government of India norms for various positions as listed below:

Assistant Professor (on contract)
Eligibility criteria : Ph.D. with a first class or equivalent at the preceding degree and a good academic record throughout. This position will enable the candidate to teach and gain research experience.

Assistant Professor
Eligibility criteria : Ph.D. with a first class or equivalent at the preceding degree and a very good academic record throughout. Minimum 3 years of post-doctoral experience from premier institutes.
Initial Emoluments :
• Pay Band-3 with scale of pay of ` 15,600-39,100 with Academic Grade Pay (AGP) of ` 8,000/- per month.
• For direct recruits, minimum pay in Pay Band -3 will be fixed at ` 30,000/- per month + Academic Grade Pay of ` 8,000/-
• Approximate gross salary : ` 76,900/-

Associate Professor
Eligibility criteria : Ph.D. with a first class at the preceding degree and a very good academic record throughout. Minimum 6 years of teaching/research experience of which at least 3 years should be at the level of Assistant Professor.
Emoluments :
• PB-4 with scale of pay of ` 37,400-67,000/- with Academic Grade Pay of ` 9,500/- per month.
• For direct recruits, minimum pay in PB-4 will be fixed at ` 42,800/- per month with Academic Grade Pay of ` 9,500/-
• Approximate gross salary : ` 1,04,600/-.

Professor
Eligibility criteria : Ph.D. with a first class or equivalent at the preceding degree with an excellent academic record throughout. Minimum 10 years of teaching/research experience of which at least four years should be at the level of Associate Professor in IITs, IISc Bangalore, IISERs or at an equivalent level in any such other Indian or foreign institution or institution of comparable standards as may be so decided by IISER Bhopal.
Emoluments :
• PB-4 with scale of pay of ` 37400-67000/- with Academic Grade Pay of ` 10,500/- per month.
• For direct recruits, minimum pay in PB-4 will be fixed at ` 48,000/- per month with Academic Grade Pay of ` 10,500/-
• Approximate gross salary : ` 1,16,600/-
