Description : Phytochemical investigation of two plants Tetrameles nudiflora and Illicium griffithii which includes Literature survey, Extraction of the plant material with the help of ethanol or methanol, Isolation of the essential phytochemicals by hot and cold extraction techniques using apparatus like Thin Layer Chromatography, Column Chromatography, Sohxlet apparatus and using spectroscopic techniques like UV, IR, MASS, 1H NMR, 13C NMR to identify the molecular formula of the compound. Different biochemical tests were performed to help in identifying the compounds. Finally evaluating the antifungal activity of the isolated compounds. Project involves knowledge to run the chromatography techniques and to analyse the compounds from the spectroscopic datas.
