Application can be submitted in person by Authorised Representative of the Company at the R & I counters in the office Or It can be sent by post/courier.

Where can I pay the application fee?

The amount should be in the form of Demand Draft/Pay order from any designated bank in favour of The Additional Director General of Foreign Trade, (CLA), New Delhi. Treasury Receipt from the following designated Central Bank of India branches is also accepted.

What is the procedure to modify IEC?

For modification of existing IEC:
1. Application form Part A, C & D to be filled in and all pages of the application to be signed.
2. Proof of change of name/address/branches/constitution of Ltd. companies etc.(Form 32/Form 18)
3. Fresh Bank certificate certifying the detail of the bank A/c, registered address, and photographs of the applicant in case of change of applicant(whose photo is to be affixed in the IEC)
4. Landline Telephone Number along with copy of Telephone Bill.
5. No fee is payable for modification/amendment if such application is made in 90 days. Otherwise, a fee of Rs.1000 may be paid in form of demand draft in favour of The Additional Director General of Foreign Trade (CLA),New Delhi. No fee is required for inclusion of PAN no. in the old IEC.

Dear Sir

By oversight shipment was delayed in transit time & date was exceed exhibition date by the time it reaches Bangalore. Customer is refusing to accept the goods & need to send this goods back to Germany. Shipment reach at Chennai port on 02.01.2013, importer would like to send the shipment to Germany.

Currently cargo is available in CWC Bangalore & now we have to complete import formalities under duty & Re-export the same back to Germany without claim duty amount which will be paid at the time of imports clearance. But actual consignee M/S.Clarity event do not have IEC code & we tried to approach consignee for request letter to customs for dummy IEC code & we did not get any response from consignee on the same.

Therefore, when we did not get response over phone & mail, we visited consignee place & received information that consignee has already shifted his office from current address without sharing any contact details with us or with Shipper & we do not have any contact details of consignee to approach for request letter to customs for import & Re-export under dummy IEC code.

Therefore when we & shipper were not able to locate consignee & unable to get request letter to customs for dummy IEC code & shipper needed this cargo back to Germany, when shipper did not had any option, they have requested M/S. STATE OF BAVARIA INDIA OFFICE, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR (INDIA) PRESTIGE MERIDIAN 2, 12TH FLOOR UNIT 1201 30 MG.ROAD BANGALORE 560 001, INDIA, who is located in Bangalore, to be consignee on behalf of M/S.CLARITY EVENT to import & the same to Re-export back to Germany.


M/s. State of Bavaria India does not have IEC code but they will provide request letter to customs for Dummy IEC code on they company letter head. We will not claim duty paid amount at the time of Re-export. Every day there is storage & demurrage is incur to this shipment.
