Scrubbing facility on NDNC website will be stopped from 1.7.2011.All the telemarketers are requested to make their own arrangement for scrubbing the NCPR data.The downloading facility has been provided to all registered telemarketer on website www.nccptrai.gov.in. Telemarketers still not registered with TRAI may immediately register using web portal. the detailed guidelines are also available at website. The primary objective of the National Do Not Call Registry (NDNC Registry) is to curb Unsolicited Commercial Communication (UCC). UCC has been defined as "any message, through telecommunications service, which is transmitted for the purpose of informing about,or soliciting or promoting any commercial transaction in relation to goods, investments or services which a subscriber opts not to receive, but, does not include, ----
(i) any message (other than promotional message) relating to a service or financial transaction under a specific contract between the parties to such contract;or
(ii) any messages relating to charities, national campaigns or natural calamities transmitted on the directions of the Government or agencies authorized by it for the said purpose;
(iii) messages transmitted, on the directions of the Government or any authority or agency authorized by it, in the interest of the sovereignty and integrity of India, the security of the State, friendly relations with foreign States, public order, decency or morality."
For customers who would like to register/de-register their request for NDNC registry may dial 1909 or SMS to 1909 with keywords 'START DND' for registration and 'STOP DND' for de-registration
Subscriber can check the status of their registration in NDNC Registry by clicking on "DND Registration Check"

I have already registered my telephone number in earlier NDNC registry. Do I need to register again?
No. A subscriber who is already registered in the National Do Not Call Registry (NDNC) is not required to re-register and his said registration will be valid under the „fully blocked? category.

What is the procedure of making a complaint?
You can make a complaint to your Access Provider, through voice call or SMS, mentioning therein the particulars of telemarketer, the telephone number from which the unsolicited commercial communication has originated, the date, time and brief description of such unsolicited commercial communication.
