IT developer for Clients and Middle Office reports

Background :
BNPP has undertaken to standardize the technology used to support its Cash Equity Execution business in Asia. In that respect, a number of system migrations take place. One of these migrations consists in migrating the clients & Middle Office reports from legacy Excel/VB/MSSQL technology to target Business Objects & Fidessa Middle Office technology. BNPP is looking for staff to perform that migration. Quality is key to ensure a smooth and timely transition to our clients.

General description of the position :
To be in charge of migrating all clients and Middle Office reports, currently using VB scripting and MSSQL, to the new Business Objects system linked to CTAC (Fidessa Middle Office System).
The final format of the reports is .csv, Excel, multiple excel sheets using various excel properties, .pdf, depending on clients requirements. The scope is Asia markets and Japan specific reports as per the market practices.

Detailed description of the mission :
To start as soon as possible.
Position in Asia Execution IT group
Mission based in Hong Kong preferably or in Tokyo.
Interactions with IT Development
Communicate project plan, schedules, risks and issues.
Monitor and report on progress.
Organize migration/integration meetings with sponsor/users/regional IT as required.

Development Task :
Analyze and understand existing reports written in VBA.
Gather user requirement for bug fix and future enhancements.
Produce technical design of target reports, estimate workload for migration.
New reports should be easily maintainable, scheduled by Business Objects Users.
Create new report; implement totals and data manipulation as required.
Perform IT testing and conduct UAT.

Clear and pro-active communication.
Delivery-focussed with a good eye for details.
Structured and organized.
Must be able to work closely with users and business analysts.
Willing to share knowledge and skills with other developers within the team.
While able to work independently, should also be a true team player.

Functional & technical knowledge :
At least 4 years work experience in a similar role
