Srinivasa Institute of Engineering and Technology College started in the year 2000 – 2001 at Poonamallee, Chennai to Bangalore Bypass Road, and Thiruvallur District under the auspices of Jaya Educational Trust which is a registered Telugu Minority Institution. The trust renders philanthropic and educational service to linguistic people living in rural areas bordering Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. The main objective of the Trust is to foster quality technical and higher education, research and training in rural areas in various branches of science and technology and simultaneously inculcate among the youth a sense of discipline so that they can be moulded into competent and talented engineers.

The college is working with professional competence under the aegis of Jaya Educational Trust, Thiruninravur, Chennai which was found by Prof. A.Kanagaraj. This institution is one of the pioneering technical institutions in this part of the countryfon. This college has become the cynosure of craving young minds of excellence in knowledge and the credible and creditable factor for best exposure in all factors. The unique character of this institution is its constant and continuous perseverance for perfection in all discipline. The college is situated in Poonamallee, 10 Km away from Koyambadu abutting the Chennai to Bangalore Highway and affiliated to Anna University Chennai-25.

Project Details :
1. Title : Knowledge based linguistic annotation of digital cultural heritage collections.
Aim : To create an intelligent system that performs linguistic analysis, concept identification
and role identification.
Abstract :
- A growing number of cultural heritage collections are available in digital form.
- Although techniques exist to physically preserve digital objects, annotating and searching such collections is far from trivial.
- The main annotation approaches are based on text and structured vocabularies.
- Text-based retrieval can use textual descriptions or a set of keywords accompanying an image, but this approach limits the range of successful queries to the indexer’s interpretation or to the individual words appearing in the textual descriptions.
- In existing environment we are dealing with recent research has replaced keyword based annotation with annotation using structured vocabularies and schema-based meta data.
- Manual annotation is predominant in the cultural heritage domain.
- This can be a tedious process that leaves many objects stored with incomplete annotations at best and no annotation at worst.
- Typically, objects in cultural heritage collections are accompanied by a textual description.
- In this proposed solution we are proposing a system that uses natural language processing techniques and background knowledge in the form of structured vocabularies to automatically identify concepts and their roles from text descriptions.

2. Title : Multimedia data transmission in MANET with guaranteed QOS.
Aim : To improve the quality of service while transmitting video data in Mobile
Ad-Hoc Network.
Abstract :
- Mobile Ad-Hoc Network (MANET) is a collection of mobile nodes with dynamic topology.
- QOS (Quality of Service) for the transmission of multimedia data in Mobile Ad-Hoc Network is a challenging activity.
- Due to the rapid expansion of the Multimedia Technology, Mobile Technology has to strictly adhere to QOS.
- Video applications over mobile devices are becoming widely used nowadays by mobile clients. Therefore, it is necessary to find the best strategies to guarantee a good QOS to the end-user.
- Many conventional modeling techniques like service differentiation, link adaption and bandwidth reservation schemes are available to enhance QOS.
- Most of the research in MANET concentrates in QOS enhancement through routing mechanism. While other important QOS metrics remained untouched.
- This paper concentrates on other QOS parameters of traffic characteristics like buffer size, bandwidth and so on.
- A model has been proposed which is reliable for data transmission that uses Weighted Fair Queue model that classifies the incoming packets based on the data rates and allocates bandwidth accordingly.
- H.264/AVC is used for encoding and decoding the video. Network simulation is done and performance is measured.
