Speech Competition:

T he twinkling ofthe stars can be seen only in the night but the activities of Literary Association can be seen throughout the year.

The Literary Association of St. Peter's College offers a platform to students to exhibit their hidden talents. In this regard Literary Association plays a significant role while nurturing the literary talents ofthe students. In order to provide the students with opportunities for polishing their skills in different areas, Literary Association organises a number of events. This year the Speech Competition was one of the best events conducted.

Soon after the address to the audience by Mam Rekha and Sir Rego, a meticulous and tough competition started. The topic for the junior group was 'Fashion within Limits' whereas the senior group was to speak on the topic 'Global Warming'.

The quality ofthe speech competition was extra-ordinarily high and reflected the efforts that had been made by all the participants. Each participant spoke with confidence and put in his/her best efforts. Infact the judges remarked that it was extremely difficult to evaluate the near perfect performances.

In the senior group, the first prize was won by Prateek Jain of St. Paul's House. Harshita Murarka ofSt. Paul's House too bagged the second prize and brought laurels to St. Paul's House and the third prize was bagged by Saumya Chaurasia of St. Xavier's House. In the senior Group A ,Aradhna Roy and Reginald Rego won the first prize, the second by Auyshi Srivastava and the third by Nilay Mehrotra. In the Junior Group, Anupama Roy bagged the first prize, the second prize was won by Prachi Sehajwani and there were three winners for the third place: Sonal Murarka, Unnati Srivastava and Satakshi Singh.

The competition was fully enjoyed by the students along with their teachers. The children cheered and boosted up the participants by giving them a big round of applause.
