BHEL SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME--III

1. OBJECTIVE OF THE SCHEME
To widen and spread the reach of quality professional education to economically weaker sections of the society in Bhopal.

2. NUMBER OF SCHOLARSHIPS
The number of scholarships in various disciplines of Engineering/Medical field will be decided by the BHEL management from time to time. For the year 2010-11 the number of scholarships shall be restricted to 16 (Sixteen) out of which 14 shall be for Engg. & 2 for MBBS students. In case sufficient number of candidates is not found eligible for scholarship in any one discipline then the scholarships left out can be granted to the student of other discipline.

3. COURSE, DISCIPLINE AND INSTITUTION
BHEL scholarship shall be awarded to the students pursuing full time degree course in Engineering/Medical in any of the institutions recognized by the AICTE/ Central Government/ Association of Indian Universities./Medical council of India

4. VALUE AND DURATION OF SCHOLARSHIP
The amount of scholarship is Rs. 2000/- per month. The scholarship shall be paid for the period of financial year March 2010 w.e.f. the month of admission, for the entire period of the course. Initially the scholarship shall be paid from the month of admission till the end of financial year i.e from April 2010 to March 2011 and further continuance of scheme is subjected toapproval of BHEL Management. Evaluation of the Scholarship shall be done by the Scholarship Committee of BHEL once in a financial year. Only after such evaluation the scholarship shall be continued for the next financial year. In case the progress of student is not found satisfactory the scholarship may be discontinued.

PROCEDURE FOR AWARD OF SCHOLARSHIP
I. The award of Scholarship and continuance thereof will be regulated as under:
II. Students will be selected after they apply against a press advertisement / notification announcing the availability of BHEL scholarships.
III. If Two or More Candidates attain the same points through Weight age Point Method for evaluation then low income family candidate will be given preference. Any other criteria may be taken up on recommendation of BHEL Scholarship Committee members.
IV. The applications should be duly recommended by the concerned Institution / College with a suitable endorsement as prescribed in the application form enclosed. Maximum of five applications may be forwarded by each Institution.
V. Differently abled (Physically Challenged) student’s disability certificate issued by appropriate authority must be enclosed.
VI. The decision of the Company with regard to award of Scholarship, continuance and/or discontinuance as the case may be, shall be final and binding.
VII. The candidate should have a Single Saving Bank account in any nationalized bank.
