    · Education Qualification:
    1. Block Technology Manager (BTM):Graduate/Post Graduate in Agriculture/Allied Sectors with (2) years field experience and computer knowledge.
    No. of Posts : 180

    2. Subject Matter Specialist(SMS):Graduate/Post Graduate in Agriculture/Allied Sectors like Horticulture /Agri-Economics /Agri-Marketing/Veterinary Science / Fisheries.
    No. of Posts : 451

    · Age:
    a. For both Block Technology Managers and Subject Matter Specialists. Minimum age is 22 years.
    b. Retired employees may also apply for the above posts. Maximum age limit for retired candidates is 65 years.

    · Selection:
    1. Recruitment will be as per the number of post available in the respective districts.
    2. Preference will be given to local or native candidates of the concerned districts.
    3. If no local / native candidate is available in the district, the candidates of concerned zone will be given preference.
    4. For BTMs line department Degree and 2 years field experience is compulsory and the preference will be given to the candidates having higher qualification and experience.
    5. For SMS’s preference will be given to candidates having higher qualification and experience.
    6. Selection is purely based on merit.
    7. The appointments are purely temporary, the candidate can be terminated at any time without prior notice.

    · Remuneration:
    1. Block Technology Manager (BTM): Rs.20,000 per month ( Consolidated).
    2. Subject Matter Specialist (SMS): Rs.8,500/- per month ( Consolidated) .

    · Duration: up to 31-3-2012 (continuation of the candidate will be depending on continuation of the scheme.

    *Note: Reservations for Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes and others as per norms will be followed.

    The Selected candidates have to execute contract bond with Director, SAMETI.


    The Commissioner is empowered to reject any application on what so ever reason.

    - Landscaping and plantation :- Handled various activities like selection of sites and species, landscaping and gardening, Avenue plantation, planning and execution of Afforastration plan and its management, manpower planning and distribution, plantation management of dumping yard, co-ordination with contractor and his staff etc.
    - Raw material Procurement : - planning and organizing raw material procurement at depots. Includes monitoring of depots purchase, motivation of farmers for supply, liaison with forest officials. Procured about 15000 MT of Eucalyptus Hardwood from various Talukas of Baroda District during the month of Jan’05 to June ’09 along with social forestry activities.
    - Administration and labor management :- Task planning and work allocation, training and development, labor relations, workforce management, orientation of workers and subordinates towards attainments of productivity targets and norms.
    - Research and development :- Evaluation of different clones under various Agro climatic zones, maintenance of clonal demonstration plots and collection of biometric data on growth parameters of various J K super clones under Gujarat conditions.
    - Clonal Technology :- Involved in the clonal production programmes of JK Super clones and exposed to all activities of Mist Chamber and Hardening chamber.
