    Scholarship Programmes for Diaspora Children
    Scholarship Programme for Diaspora Children (SPDC) was introduced in the academic year 2006-2007 with the objective to make higher education in India accessible to the children of overseas Indians and promote India as a centre for higher studies.

    Under the scheme, 100 PIO/NRI students are awarded scholarship of up to US$ 5,000 per annum for undergraduate courses in Engineering, Technology, Humanities, Liberal Arts, Commerce, Management, Journalism, Hotel Management, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and some other courses.

    The scheme in being implemented through EdCIL (India) Ltd. It is open to NRIs/PIOs from over 40 countries having substantial Indian Diaspora population.Presently 305 NRIs / PIOs are presently studying in India under SPDC.

    An Overview
    The Diaspora Services Division of the Ministry deals with all matters related to Overseas Indians, comprising Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) and Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) which are not specifically allocated to other Ministries/Departments of the Government of India or other Divisions of the Ministry. These include organization of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas conventions and Mini-PBDs, conferment of Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award, dissemination of information concerning admission of NRI/PIO students to various educational, technical and cultural institutions in India wherever discretionary quota for NRI/PIO students exists and issues related to NRI women.

    The following schemes are run by the Diaspora Services Division:
    ** Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI)
    ** Know India Programme (KIP),
    ** Scholarship Programme for Diaspora Children (SPDC)
    ** Tracing the Roots
    ** Establishment of PIO/NRI Universities in India,
    ** Legal And Financial Assistance to Indian Women Deserted by their Overseas Indian Spouses

    I have submitted my application and found that my college admission number has been kept wrong. so i waited edit option to come, and now in the edit option process the resume is not giving my caste. my caste is BCC. In previous submitted application also my caste was BCC. Now it is showing HINDU religion and giving sub-caste options of SC,SC,BC-A,BC-B,BC-D,OC AND EBC...

    SIR PLEASE SUGGEST ME WHAT TO DO.
