    GOVERNMENT OF PUDUCHERRY
    DIRECTORATE OF HIGHER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION

    Applications (Fresh/Renewal) are invited for the year 2011-2012 from the candidates who are Indian citizens and residents of the Union Territory of Puducherry and who have secured at least 60 % of marks in aggregate in the Science and Commerce Stream and 55 % or more in Humanities Stream in the qualifying examinations in the academic year 2010-2011 for the following scholarship schemes:-

    Name of the Scheme : Puducherry State Post Matric Scholarship
    Eligibility Criteria : Applicable to the students undergoing higher studies in Arts/Science/ Medical/Engg./ Commerce/Corporate Secretary Secretary-ship Agri/Education (D.T.Ed)/Diploma courses/Paramedical courses including B.Sc (Nursing), in Recognised Institutions anywhere in India.

    Name of the Scheme : Financial Assistance to PG students
    Eligibility Criteria : Applicable to the students undergo-ing higher studies in Arts/Science/ Commerce/Corpo rate Secretaryship Medical/Engg./ Agri/Para-medical courses including M.Sc. (Nursing), in Recognised Institutions anywhere in India.

    AMOUNT OF SCHOLARSHIP
    For Puducherry State Post Matric Scholarship Scheme
    a) A sum of Rs.60/- per month for day scholars and Rs.100/- per month for hostellers will be paid for first year of 3 years B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. etc.
    b) A sum of Rs.90/- per month for day scholars and Rs.140/- per month for hostellers will be paid for the II and III year B.A/B.Sc./B.Com. etc.
    c) A sum of Rs.120/- per month for day scholars and Rs.300/- per month for hostellers will be paid for the
    M.A./M.Sc./M.Com. and Engineering/Medical/Professional Courses.

    For Financial Assistance to Post Graduate Students
    A sum of Rs.120/- per month for Day Scholars and Rs.300/- per month for hosteller will be paid to Engineering and all other Higher Courses of study.

    MODE OF APPLYING
    The candidates studying UG/PG courses, who wish to apply for fresh scholarships for the year 2011- 2012 under the above Scholarship Schemes may visit the website to download the application forms.
    The students should submit their applications to the Directorate of Higher and Technical Education, Puducherry, through the Head of their Institution on or before 30.11.2011. The Head of Institutions should furnish the details of the applicants in the prescribed proforma (I), in the descending order of the marks obtained in the qualifying examination.
