Qualification : Bachelor’s degree in Arts, Science or Commerce with 3 years experience as UDC or equivalent post in a Govt/Semi. Govt/Public Sector Undertaking/Private Sector of repute. Preference will be given to graduate in Law and computer savvy persons.
Location : Equatorial Geophysical Research Laboratory, Krishnapuram, Tirunelveli.
Maximum Age : 35 years with relaxation
Pay Scale : Rs.9300-34800 + Grade Pay of Rs. 4200/-

I have joined NIO Goa as a research scholar where I am working in seismic division and contributing marine sea bed survey of Kovvada region and processing .Earlier I worked in NGRI Hyderabad as a Project Assistant in Control Seismic Source section where I am working with quality circle on detailed tomography study of ‘Koyana –Warna’ region using software TOMOG3D. I have also contributed towards the 3D Seismic data acquisition of Koyna –Warana region using TAURUS as a recording instrument. I have completed my M.Sc. (Tech) dissertation on ‘ Prestack Time Migration ‘ which have given me a detailed understanding of seismic data processing as well as concept of seismic wave field.
My ability to work well as part of team ,combined with my enthusiasm to learn and adapt my skills to a range of work situations , were essential to my contributions and success during my work. Experience has taught me how to build strong relationships with all departments at an organization. Current Status :
Research Scholar in Geophysics department of National Institute of Oceanography (NIO), Donapaula Goa, India. I have acquired marine seismic data of Kovvada region using Octopus as a recording unit with my team and presently processing the same data on PROMAX software and also side scan data processing using Sonar wiz map.
Training & Experiences :
- Worked in ‘National Geophysical Research institute Hyderabad’ from ‘27 July 2009 to 7 Dec 2010 :
I was associated with quality circle on detailed tomography study of ‘Koyna –Warna’ region using software TOMOG3D. I have contributed towards the 3D Seismic data acquisition of Koyna –Warna region using TAURUS as a recording instrument. I also gained experience of gravity magnetic data processing and modeling of Bikaner-Nagaur Basin, Rajasthan.
- Dissertation work on “Pre Stack Time Migration” in M.Sc. (Tech) (Geophysics) :
I processed 2D seismic data in (GEOPIC), ONGC, Deharadun using FOCUS software. I learnt about different kind of noises found in seismic data, their effect on data and their attenuation techniques.

- Summer Training on “Seismic data acquisition, processing and interpretation” in Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (O.N.G.C), Baroda :
In acquisition part I went to the field where I saw 3-D data acquisition techniques, different shooting methods and learned about logistic problems that a geophysicist can face sometimes. In processing part I learnt different processing steps & techniques. Geocluster software was used there for data processing.
A presentation on “Deconvolution” in M.Sc. (Tech) (Geophysics) :In my presentation I discussed briefly about type of deconvolution and its parameters designing.
- One month training experience on “AVO Analysis for Gas Hydrate Identification” in NGRI Hyderabad.
- Fifteen days training experience and exposure to Geophysical activities in different section of NGRI Hyderabad.
Computer Proficiency :
