    PROJECTS
    .
    PROJECT #1

Title STUDY OF DISSOLUTION RATE OF DIFFERENT BRANDS OF CIPROFLOXACIN TABLETS
    Duration 2 Months
Place Sankaralingam Bhuwaneswari College of Pharmacy, Sivakasi.
    Report Excellent
    DESCRIPTION
In this experiment we used three tablets of the ciprofloxacin of different brands .The dissolution is done as same as that of the procedure of I.P by maintaining the following conditions like stirrer height, speed, medium wave length, number of sample intervals. The dissolution rate of Cifran is more than that of Cebran and Alquin. Further studies can be done with animals to ascertain other physiological parameters.
    PROJECT #2
    Title DISSOLUTION ENHANCEMENT OF CARBAMAZEPINE
    Duration 1 Year
Place Sankaralingam Bhuwaneswari College of Pharmacy.
    Report Excellent
    DESCRIPTION
From the studies on prepared solid dispersion it was dispersed that the solubility and dissolution rate of poorly soluble drug like Carbamazepine can be increased by dispersing the drug in the solid dispersion form .In this study maximum increase in dissolution rate was obtained with Carbamazepine –PGS solid dispersion with a weight ratio of 1 :7 followed by Carbamazepine -PVP solid dispersion with a weight ratio of 1:7 ,because PVP is more hygroscopic. Carbamazepine-PGS solid dispersion are more suitable for formulation development. Here it is concluded that the further work can be done in aspect of developing an effective dosage form that gives quick release. The report is submitted to The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai during the academic year 2004.
    PROJECT #3
    Title MICROBIOLOGICAL ASSAY OF CREAMS
    Duration 6 Months
    Place Annamalai University,Chidambaram.
    Report Excellent
    DESCRIPTION
At intervals during the incubation periods, and at its conclusion, examine the media for macroscopic evidence of microbial growth. If no evidence of growth is found, the preparation being examined passed the tests for sterility. If evidence of microbial growth is found, reserve the containers. Preparation being examined and hence that the tests for sterility are invalid and may therefore be recommended perform a retest using the same number of samples, volume to be tested and the media as in the original test. If evidence of microbial growth is then found the preparation being examined passed the tests for sterility. If evidence of microbial growth is found isolate and identify the organisms. If they are not readily distinguishable form those growing in the containers reserved in the first test the preparation being examined fails the tests for sterility. If they are readily distinguishable form those growing in the containers resaved tin the first test, perform a second testes using twice the number of samples,. If no evidence of microbial growth is found in the second retest, the preparation being examined passes the testes for sterility. If evidence of growth of any microorganisms is found in the second retest the preparation being examined fails the tests for sterility
