Simhapuri Energy Private Limited (SEPL), a owned subsidiary of Hyderabad based Madhucon Group, is established in 2005 to develop, construct, operate and distribute power from coal based power projects in India. Over the years SEPL has established itself as a pioneering organisation in Thermal Energy sector and currently on the way of building power plant with supercritical technology.
The Company is aiming to establish a power generation capacity of 5,000 MW by the year 2015 and 15,000 MW by year 2020 with resources on its own and through its subsidiaries. The power projects are planned to be diverse in geographic location, fuel type, fuel source and off-take.

DESCRIPTION :
The objective of this project is to improve the power systems without problems of higher ratings using a newly developed system called DPFC(Distributed Power Flow Controller).It employs the distributed FACTS(Flexible AC Transmission Systems) concept, which is to use multiple small-size single-phase converters instead of the one large-size three-phase series converter in the UPFC.
The large number of series converters provides redundancy, thereby increasing the system reliability. As the D-FACTS converters are single-phase and floating with respect to ground, there is no voltage isolation required between the phases. Accordingly, the cost of DPFC is lower than UPFC but has the same control capability which comprises the adjustment of line impedance, the transmission angle, and the bus voltage. The principle and analysis of the DPFC are presented in this thesis and are simulated in MATLAB
