Institute of Microbial Technology (IMTECH), is a constituent R&D establishment of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) a premier agency established by Govt. of India to undertake Scientific & Industrial Research. The institute is engaged in research in many different areas of modern biological sciences and microbe-related biotechnology, with special emphasis on research that is interdisciplinary and of a collaborative nature.

The Institute invites applications from young & dynamic persons to fill up following positions :-

POST No.1 :- Assistant Engineer Group III(3) (Electrical) - 1 Post (Unreserved)
Pay Band :- 15,600-39,100 plus Grade Pay Rs.4600/- + usual allowances as admissible to Central Govt. employees stationed at Chandigarh (Total Emoluments: Rs. 34,000/- per month (approx.)
Essential Qualification : B.E/B.Tech. or equivalent in Electrical Engineering with 55% marks.
Desirable Qualification : - 2 years Experience in internal and external electrification of multi-storeyed commercial, residential, institutional buildings and large township etc.
Job Requirement :- The incumbent will be required to prepare schemes and estimates for internal electrification of housing and Multi-storeyed buildings, Sub-station equipment upto 11KV, Lifts, Fire Alarm and Fire fighting systems. Looking after day to day maintenance jobs of Building and staff quarters. Preference will be given to those who have experience in maintenance of Buildings and Sub-stations.
Age Limit :- Not exceeding 30 years as on 20.12.2011.

POST No.2 :- Technical Assistant Group III(1) – (Total: 04 posts)
Pay Band :- Rs.9300-34800 plus Grade Pay Rs.4200/- + usual allowances (Total emoluments: Rs. 26500/- per month (approx.)
Age Limit :- Not exceeding 28 years as on 20.12.2011.
Essential Qualification :- 10+2 with Science subjects followed by Ist class Diploma in Electronics or Instrumentation of 3 years full time duration (2/2.5 years full time duration in cases of lateral admission after 10+2 if applicable) or its equivalent.
Desirable :- One year hands-on Experience in operation and maintenance of NMR/Mass Spectrometer OR 1 year hands-on experience of working with sophisticated laboratory instruments/equipment

- Have done a project on “Controlling and Signalling of Railway Electric Traction” in BVRIT College with budget of 1.8Lakhs.
- Project done using most modern control logic with Electromagnetic relays, efficient transmission lines, less voltage DC motor, Push buttons, signal indicators etc
- Project includes the construction of railway engine with a DC motor and a railway track of 12mts length in oval shape, controlling the movements of the train by signalling with the help of Electromagnetic relays, and a control panel showing the location of the train on the track.
