RAC INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR FOLLOWING POSTS IN DRDS UNDER DIRECT RECRUITMENT

Scientist ‘E’ (Rs. 37,400-67,000/- & Grade Pay 8,700/-)
No of Vacancies : 1
Experience / Specialisation : Design / development/ evaluation of aerospace vehicles such as UAVs/Rotary wing/Fixed wing aircraft.
Desirable : Should have undergone Pilot Course from the Indian Armed Services and should have successfully credited as qualified pilot. Should have 100 hours of flying experience of UAV's as an internal pilot in the last three years.

Scientist ‘D’ (Rs. 15,600-39,100/- & Grade Pay 7,600/-)
No of Vacancies : 3
Experience / Specialisation : Spectroscopy of polymers and elastomers. Knowledge of NDT tools for polymeric/elastomeric products.
Agriculture extension activities and field trials of agriculture crops in cold regions. Experience in green house technology and arid research will be preferred.
Experimental Combustion, Atomisation & Sprays, Mixing and combustion in scramjet engine, Thermoacoustic instabilities and Non-intrusive laser based combustion diagnostics. Experience of working in high pressure test rigs and in high speed data acquisition systems and development of probes for supersonic flows.

Scientist ‘C’ (Rs. 15,600-39,100/- & Grade Pay 6,600/-)
No of Vacancies : 1
Experience / Specialisation : In high altitude physiology, primary cell cultures, slice cultures, confocal microscopy, animal behaviour, histology, proteomics, neuro- pharmacology, neurosciences as evidenced by publication in peer reviewed journals and human studies on cognitive physiology at high altitude.

AGE LIMIITS (as on closing date of advertisement) :
(a) For Scientist `C' : not exceeding 35 years,
(b) For Scientist `D' and Scientist 'E' : not exceeding 45 years.

Project Title : Optimization and Production of anti-cancer drug ‘Asparaginase’ from Coliforms. (MSc PartII)
Description : Asparaginase is an important anti cancer drug especially for Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia. The project involved isolation of coliforms producing asparaginase, production of the enzyme, purification and checking the anti tumor activity of the enzyme. The drug produced showed 50% cytotoxic activity.
# Presented the project in a UGC-sponsored ‘National conference on current trends in Biological Sciences’ held in Mumbai, India (Jan 2011).

Presented a seminar as a part of the ‘AIDS awareness programme’(2007) conducted by the Microbiology department of Vivekananda college of Arts, Science and Commerce, Mumbai University-India.
